Just curious, what's everyones age, and what year Riv(s) do you own?

Recommended Posts

I am 35 with a 1964 original black/black factory dual quad car. I inherited it from my Father who passed away in 2003 and he LOVED this car. My Grandfather on my Father's side bought a '63 brand new when they came out. Story goes he went to Atlanta for a pair of shoes and came back with a Riv(white w/ red interior). He stopped at a diner on the way back and the local police ended up directing traffic as people were coming off the highway to see the car. My Father had 3-4 first gen Rivs and even owned J. Paul Getty's 1964(I think, may have been a 63) Riviera which he bought at a used car lot in Atlanta by accident. The "Made Expressly For" plate gave it away. That car got rearended at some point and he fixed it and sold it. He regretted selling that one, not sure where it went. He found the black dual quad 64 in Hemmings in 1998-1999 and that was his favorite. I am carrying on the tradition, his car is constantly being upgraded and I have parted out 6 64-65's and worked on too many to remember. I love them, just need more space!

36 for a few more months, 65 Riviera non-GS. It's in really rough shape but we're chipping away at it. Was my father's (he bought it used but only a couple years old), then my brothers, now mine.

I'm interested in figuring out the age demographic of us fellow Riv addicts. List your age, and what cars you own... Currently I'm 43, and have 2 1965 Riv's.

I'm also 43, and have a '64 with a non-original 425, although it did come from a '64.

Edit: Actually, I'm 44. Birthdays seem to keep happening.

Here are a couple charts based on data posted so far for what its worth. Since some folks have more than one year Riv I took the first one they listed so this data does not show all years of cars listed but does indicate a trend. The average age of owner is 50.5. Not sure if this snapshot would be reflective of ROA members as a whole or not. Probably not as there is an obvious absence of the 79-85 and we know many members have those.

Note the data was sorted by age which is why it starts at 16 and ramps up.

Jason,

If I had kids I would ask you to come to their school and do a power point presentation. Nice work!

Hey Dandy Dave - your info wasn't included since you did not list your actual age. You said 39 and holding so I took that as a joke. I apologize if I made an incorrect assumption?

Don't know why I took so long to reply here.

44 years young until July 2013.

Current Riviera's:

1964 slowly donating parts to others.

1966 with many options, needing restoration.

1966 Idaho car to donate body to above 66 project.

1984 T-Type beige with 10000 miles added in two years of ownership. Leather and suede interior done. Currently in body shop.

1985 T-Type brown alleged FBI supervisor car. I need to rewire butchered harness. Then fillers, interior and paint.

1985 T-Type white running driving rusty parts car.

1999 Silver Arrow #147.

33 yrs old. I own a 65 for three years. The previous owner had it in my shop a few times. I fell in love and made a deal he couldn't refuse.

I'm 57 and have just gotten a '69 as a "gift" from my cousin. It was last registered in 1986 and needs a good cleaning, paint job, and upholstery. My wife loves it and wants it for her daily driver once it's done. As long as Momma's happy, life is good.

OK Ok... Dandy Dave is 51 for real and my Riv is a 1982 Convertible. Dang, The Chicks found out I was over 30 and do not want to party with me any more... :P Dandy Dave!
