  1. Hey there, i haven't uploaded anything the past 2-3 years and figure i'd share my recent purchases. I don't think i'm the only one that can't stop buying Buicks. My uncle had a 1956 Buick Roadmaster model 73 (four door Riviera) back in Greece that needed lots of work and i grew up around the car. I always wanted to fix it but with the luck of knowledge and part availability it was impossible. When i turned 18 (back in 2008) i ended up in PA studying Mechanical Engineering and the first thing i did was to look for a 56 Roadmaster. About a year later i found a solid candidate in Miami, FL which i purchased. Fast forward i'm 30, married with 2 kids and 30 some cars (mostly Buicks). 1949 Buick Super Sedanette 1956 Buick Roadmaster 73 (4 door Riviera) 1956 Buick Roadmaster 76R (2 door) 1956 Buick Super 56R (2 door) 1960 Buick Lesabre 4445 (wagon 3rd row) 1964 Buick Lesabre 4447 (2 door sport coupe) 1966 Buick Riviera 1969 Buick Special Deluxe 1970 Buick Riviera 1971 Buick Riviera GS and about 14 more miscellaneous cars mostly GM and some other parts cars
  2. It's a Roadmaster, car was on fire. I'm working on the harness at the moment. I have more pictures in here.
  3. Been talking to a guy from upstate NY for a while about a 49 Super he had for sale. Finally this past Saturday I went to pick her up. She needs a lot of work, floors are...what floors. Rockers are...what rockers... Anyway I wish she was more solid but it is what it is. Doors still open and close so i'm happy.
  4. Ok im sorry if there is a thread like this already but where can we buy the BCA stickers? same with the one we get when we receive the BCA membership. thanks
  5. Thanks, I had to change the water pump too because it went bad from sitting.
  6. So i was looking on craigslist for parts for the Roadmaster, more like i was bored with nothing better to do, and i saw that 56 Special for a decent price. I have a problem, i cant say no to a 56 Buick for a decent price. I went to look on the car which was about an hour away. Car was all there, started right up, the guy that had it bought it from the original owner couple months ago and he told me that car sat inside a garage most of its life. It has 30,000 original miles on and last time was inspected in 1982. Originally the car was Tahiti Coral with green interior which is weird but really cool. Its crazy that somebody would order a car in that color combination but at the same time unique. Anyway i found on the glovebox a sticker that says the car was repainted Laurel Green back in 1963 (sticker has actual date). Long story short i bought the car drove it maybe 100 feet and a coolant line broke and start spraying antifreeze on the windshield, i pulled in KFC parking lot and waited for my friend to come tow it. Later that day the balast resistor gave up so we couldnt even start the car to get it on the trailer. I made it back home around 3am that night. So far i bought 6 classic/muscle cars and every car has a long story on how i bought it and thats whats all about, creating stories and memories to pass on later on to kids/grandkids. When i got the car home i dropped it at my girlfriends house cause my father doesnt know i bought another one, he yelled me about the last 3 cars i bought, why even bother tell him now. I changed the carburator, fuel line, sparkplugs and wires, coil and the car couldnt start so after a question in the forum i found out about the balast resistor thanks to couple guys in here. Got the car to run, drove it, and parked it cause car pulled to the right so i figure i should check the brakes. this is how i found the car Both these pics are from 4th of July i know she is not that pretty yet, chrome is rusting and pitting but i love it! Thank you
  7. Yes sir you got it. I'll upload few pictures
  8. Sorry if im posting this in the wrong thread but where can i find the bolts and boushings that bolt the frame to the car for the 1966 Riviera? I cant find anything on EBay or local auto stores so if anyone has a link online or have any part number i would apreaciate it. Thanks
  9. Thanks everyone for the info, Marvel Mystery oil it is!
  10. So i find some info about old cars in general running unleaded and i understand the concept about leaded and unleaded. Do i have to use anything in the gas tank every time i fill it up or just run high octane gas 93-94? Its an original 56 322 Nailhead with 30k original miles.
  11. these she is, i know carb needs to be tuned but she starts right up
  12. Thanks everyone, Balast Resistor was the problem, car starts first crank!! Awesome thanks again
  13. I replaced the carb with another 2bbl Carter that I had and I put an in line fuel filter. I'm getting clean gas and the carb sprays gas inside. Long story short i parked the car at my girlfriends house because my father doesn't know I bought another old car . A ballast resistor is 5$ so I don't mind spending that kind money
  14. It's been 2 days now, I've tried everything, I'll give it a try tomorrow and keep you posted, thanks again
  15. Thanks for the advices so far, yea the video was my first attempt, I got same results by holding the choke closed, cranks, fires and dies. Maybe problem with timing/points?
  16. http://youtu.be/kBwsJhnuQgs That's one of the first attempts. I've tried to start with the choke closed and still have the same results. I ended up changing the top part of the carb but still nothing.
  17. In other words how can I bypass the start switch in the carb? I have a rebuild carter 2bbl but it doesn't have the starter setup.
  18. I got the car 4 days ago and when I picked it up we got the car to run. We put some gas to the carb, crank it and it started right up, we let the car run for a good 30-40 minutes. I'll try upload a video. Think it could be timing??
  19. Hello, so I bought another 56, a four door Special with original 30k miles. I changed plugs wires, coil and pulled the carb out to clean. The problem I have is that the car won't start. I pulled out the fuel line and I see that when I crank it I'm getting fuel. When i press the gas pedal and it engages the starter is there anything to do with the carb? I have another 2 bbl carb that I can replace the factory for now but do I have to bypass the ignition if it's on the carb.
  20. http://www.teambuick.com/reference/years/56/56_order_sheet.php found this after some research, cool info to know
  21. I have few questions based on the 1956 Buicks. I always thought that the Super is one step lower than the Roadmaster yet its 50 series model compared to the Century which is 60 series. Why is that? Super shares alot more in common with the Roadmaster, they are both larger cars with same wheel base? Why is the Century better than a Super? Also people have been wondering or maybe have been impressed that my Roadmaster has factory A/C. I thought all the Roadmasters came with factory A/C. Wasnt A/C standard in the Roadmasters?
  22. i just got back from FL, drove 20 hours to get parts off a Super, with you told me that earlier. By the way if you have the windshield and you are willing to ship it how much would you want to ship it to Wilkes-Barre PA 18706?
  23. Jon i got the bird on the hood, other than some pitting it doesnt seem cracked. IV Porte i have no idea sorry. these are the parts i got off the car
  24. Don't have truck or trailer to be honest. Just happened to be on spring break so I went down FL and ended up going for Buick parts. Message them though, they are really nice people and they are willing to take out the part for u and ship it
  25. So i've been looking to buy parts for my 56 Roadmaster and i found in Sarasota FL a 56 Super for sale. I drove from PA 20 hours away to see the Super. I met the nicest people ever, they let me borrow their tools, offered me help, and in general they are really honest and they dont ask alot. I promised them i would help them sell parts or the whole car by posting it here. About the car: 95% percent of the car is there,No title, i only needed few things so the rest is all there. Complete 322 Nailhead with Dynablow tranny, 4 bbl curb, motor has the spark plug covers on, interior is all there other than the chrome piece on the dash, cluster is there, air vents, everything. Car even has the original jack in the trunk. I wanted to get the windshield but i dont think it will make it to PA in one piece. Contact info: rwslll@yahoo.com home:941-378-4641 Car is located in Sarasota FL
