Raise your hand if you drove at least one old Buick this weekend

Last week, I drove the Caballero to Brighton, MI (about 35 miles from home).

Ken Lingenfelter invited it to be exhibited at The Lingenfelter Collection!

Here it is waiting for the staff to pull it in to the display area.

It is one of very few cars on display that are not owned by Lingenfelter; I was happy to say yes to the request!

Beautiful fall day in Rogue Island. We went for a ride around town and near the reservoir to see the fall colors. We saw a few other antique cars on the road doing the same.
At the end of the drive we rewarded ourselves and Teddy with some ice cream.

We have been under water for a few days here as well. Sunshine this afternoon.

In accordance with my standing policy of bringing all fluids up to operating temperature even if I move one car width I took the '60 Electra up through town and around the loop to move it to the other side of the garage.

Notice the desk chair by the rear of the Riviera. I take the arms and the back off and they scoot around the garage pretty well. Got two of them.

Some of the Buick's which attended the inaugural Scarborough to Whiteman Park run organised by  The Veteran Car Club of Western Australia last Sunday. Reserved parking for us on the Cultural area at Scarborough Beach for a 2 hour public display and then an organised route to Whiteman Park . About a 70 mile run for me from my home to the coast and back again. The blue you see in the background is the Indian Ocean. A most enjoyable outing.

No pictures, but today I used the Reatta to do some errands in our countryside, mostly because it was a dry, but quite cool day in the 45 F range. About 30 miles on it all told.

It hadn't been driven in a few weeks, and soon they will all be tucked away for the winter. My goal is to have all of them out within the next week or so. Hopefully the weather will hold, if the forecast is to be believed.

I guess I'm bad at picture taking, but I had the Electra out for a short drive on Friday afternoon. Less than 15 miles, and fortunately the heater was working great since the temp was only around 40 F, also the black vinyl roof wasn't a bad thing in this cool weather.

Took the 57 out for a night on the town and while enjoying a beer and music The Band announces that whoever owns the classic Buick please come talk to the table by the stage... Ha ha ha.  Had a long chat about the car and classic Buicks, met some new people, fun night!

first time trying to post photos,  nothing happening  Sorry

It is a bit intimidating the first time.  It's three basic steps.  #1 add the photo to the "Editor"window.   #2 "insert the photo into the "post" ( look at the bottom of the picture for the "Insert" button).  And #3 "Submit the post ( look at the bottom of the editor window for the "submit Reply" button).  This usually involves scrolling down or back up, to find these buttons.

Drove Goldie to the cemetery today (no pics, though).  It would have been a nice day to drive the '38 also, but the distributor is currently on the bench awaiting parts delivery from Bob's.  Hopefully they'll show up tomorrow and I can get it back together to enjoy the nice stretch of late fall weather that's forecast for most of this week...

On Sunday my wife and I attended one of the last car shows in the area at Fort Totten in Bayside Queens.

This has always been a nice show and this year it was even better with over a hundred cars and trucks. The weather although cool was absolutely beautiful. The Reatta drew quite a bit of attention. Some pics, real nice 49 Benz whose owner obliged when I asked him to put his signal out lol. A nice 57. VW and Russian bike sidecar and machine gun. When you bring a tow truck to a car show make sure it's towing a 29 Franklin, you have to love the truck guys. Some Buicks in the mix and a Packard. And my wife Grace loves talking about our cars when I am away from the cars. I am a lucky man.

My wife and I took my 4 year-old grandson to the park today in the '38.  I'm counting this as an advance on this coming weekend since the forecast is for rain on both Saturday and Sunday.  (I think my photographer sneezed before the shutter closed...)

But with the arms and back removed, how can you stack boxes on them and keep those boxes in place?

The Long Island chapter had an end of season run Sunday. We started in Wantagh, went east along the Ocean parkway, and ended up in Great River at Timber Point Golf Course restaurant for lunch. It's days like this that you understand why you put up with the traffic around NYC, parts of Long Island are beautiful.

A real enjoyable run, I was at the rear but the Gran Spot views helped make it better lol. A great way to close out the year.

Nice and thanks for sharing. Growing in Blue Point on the south shore thanks for the pictures.

You understand well that Long Island is not all fun and games with traffic and suburbia but parts of it do have charm and beauty and having such differences between North and South shores only about a half hour to an hour from each other make it a very interesting place to live.

It was 72 deg. today and sunny with tomorrow a high of 40! I got Beulah out today from the garage down the street. A nice day for a drive with the top down. I brought it home at lunchtime for Joan and I to put up the top.

Looks like this may have been the last ride for the year for the 1941 Special. Really sorry to say that. It is getting colder here and 95 percent of the leaves are down. Next week I will clean the car, check the fluids etc and put it to bed for the winter. The 1941 Roadmaster is already wrapped up for the winter. Hope spring comes early!
