John Bloom
Sorry, it’s a picture of a picture. 1982, I was 17 and paid 400 dollars for it saved from mowing lawns. I so wish I had it today. I was so proud of it and would detail it every weekend.

RivNut
How about quite a few. Strange what diapers, braces, and tuition will make you give up. 1957 Austin Healey 100-6, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1968 Dodge Charger, 1969 BMW 2002Tii, 1964 Buick Wildcat Spt Cpe w/ buckets and console mounted tach, 2 1955 Chevy 2 door sedans with built motors. That doesn’t include any of the Riviera’s listed in my signature block. 😢 I could probably buy a nice beach front 2nd home for what the big Healey, the Chevelle, and the Charger would be worth now.
Wayne R
A photo of my 65 that i let go about 6+ years about, and out of 11 Buicks i have owned it was the best Buick i ever owned, did about, 12000 miles in it when i lived in Sacramento, I also painted that car in Sacramento, using Sherwin Williams paint 7000 system, and after about 17 years that paint still looks the same as the day i did it. It is painted in called Silver cloud--ZZ--.The Rolls Royce connection. Bill Mitchell was in London in 1960,when he was visiting a food outlet in the evening, and out of the fog came a Silver cloud Rolls Royce appeared, he was so exited he decided to put his skills and do similar design side profile , in the design of his new upcoming 63 Riviera, and the rest is history. That colour GM named silver cloud, its one of the best silvers available to this day. Yes David i fitted those 3 way retractable rear seat belts about 1992 thats another story .----later--- Sorry--- Edited March 8, 2021 by Wayne R missed spelt (see edit history)

NC1968Riviera
I attended the first St. Pauls, North Carolina Cruise-In held on over a year last Saturday. We were in good company. SeattleRiv
Hello All wanted to post my new find. 1966 GS barn find via the Riview, previous Riv was a 69 that was the definition of a 15 footer. Was able to find this gem and pass the 69 off to a father/son combo in seattle for a song. This GS was a one owner car and has the "Built expressly for..." tag on the glovebox which I have not come across. Another feature is the caps which I like although I am wishing I was able to keep the Rally wheels off the 69. The ride was sitting for 20 years, was put in storage when owner couldnt drive anymore and passed. I purchased from his son who was 70! Fresh plugs and battery and it fired right up, all I had to do was tune the carb, change fluids and put fresh tires on and we're running like a champ. I went with the 735s and they are too big for my taste, unfortunately I am no tire size expert so I pulled a rookie mistake and went a little large! I know some of you guys like the bigger tires but I would prefer a bigger rim with a lower profile tire. If anyone has any 5x5 rims of any type classic or new and would like to sell I am interested!! (in Seattle). This is no garage queen, it is my daily driver. Hands down this is the nicest car I have ever owned and I am sure it would grade on the higher end of unrestored classics but I did not buy the car to only come out in the summer so we will be driving the Riv like it was meant to be. I will be planning on meeting up with the other local Riv owners this year and plan on showing in Greenwood if they have it! cheers! 9
Vin63
I had hoped to make more progress on the '64, but 2020 was pretty brutal on my business, so project funds are in short supply. I was able to address some things that required my labor mostly. I was able to restore the turbine wheel covers and do some repair on the suspension components, preparing it for air ride. Since business was so slow last year, I also spent a lot of hammer and dolly time straightening the front and rear bumpers, and found a pair of front lower turn signal lamp covers and restored everything. RivNut
Can you Gran Sport owners post pictures of your Fisher Body Data plate showing the build date. I'm looking for ones built in August or September. I'm trying to figure out if the Gran Sport was an initial offering when the 1965 Riviera was produced or whether the Gran Sport was a December of 1964 addition. Trying to put an end to a myth or prove it. Thanks, Ed

Trying to put an end to a myth or prove it. Thanks, Ed Hi Ed, There is no "myth" as far as I know. Availability of the Riviera Gran Sport was announced in the Fall of `64 with production scheduled to commence in late Sept/early Oct `64. But there was a GM strike which started in late Sept `64 and lasted until late October `64. So the `65 Riviera Gran Sports (not the Skylark Gran Sports! ) became available starting in very early November `64. The Skylark Gran Sports came along approximately two months later. BTW....keep in mind Fisher Body plate dates coincide with body build and not necessarily whole car build/assembly. With that in mind, it could be possible for a body to be plated at Fisher just before the strike started but car assembly of same might not have been completed until a full month later until after the strike. Also, the Fisher body dates are week specific, not day specific. That leaves quite a bit of room for time variables. For instance, two cars which appear from the Fisher body date to be built in consecutive weeks, or a week apart, could actually be built on back to back production days or 10 production days apart, ie, Friday of week one and Monday of week two, or Monday of week one and Friday of week two. The best evidence for time frame research is the build sheet or customer delivery date assuming either or both are available and that the car was not a dealer stock order. Hope this helps clear up, or better yet, prevent any mystery, Tom

KRmanr
54 years ago this May, my dad decided it was time to splurge a little and bought this 1967 Buick Riviera Luxury Sport Coupe for the family to enjoy. He never imagined I'd still have it today, still giving it the Robinson touch of TLC as needed. Dad bought our Riviera new in Dallas in May '67 after completing his postgraduate masters work at SMU, ten (10) years after graduating from Georgia Tech. He loved the 2nd generation Riviera styling and said the choice in picking out his Riviera was an easy decision, since the Gold w/White vinyl top perfectly matched Georgia Tech colors. He traded in our '62 Chevrolet Impala. He drove it daily to work throughout his career at LTV (Vought / Northrop Grumman) until 1982 w/~106k miles. It was then relegated to '2nd-class' street parking for the next few years while he was working out-of-town... (something to do w/a new, top-secret bomber). I drove it some while finishing high school when I needed to work on my '69 Le Mans, and I also drove it to college for a time. In the mid-late '80s I did an extensive on-frame restoration, culminating in our first post-restoration "golden years" excursion to Golden Colorado in 1989 to a Riviera Owners Association (ROA) meet where I won the People's Choice Award. In 2019 I showed it in the annual Dallas new car show, just a few miles from where dad originally bought it — that moment was very gratifying for both of us. - The Original (Roberts Buick) Window Sticker - Price: 5,803.29 (dad had penciled in the dealer invoice cost of each item). He traded in a '62 Chevrolet Impala. - Question: Why was the most basic AM radio available in a Riviera listed as an optional cost item, same goes for the rear seat speaker? I'd bet $10,000 that there wasn't a 2nd gen Riviera built (on purpose) without a radio & rear speaker. What do you think? Same goes for "Whitewall Tires", because they didn't come with black wall tires when new, did they? Now some GS models may have had the Redline-wall tires, and were surely listed as a higher cost item. He loved the 2nd generation Buick Riviera styling and said the choice in picking out his Riviera was an easy decision since the Gold w/White vinyl top perfectly matched George Tech colors. This is our family's '67 Buick Riviera with the original owner, Reggie Robinson — Dad bought our Riviera new in Dallas in May '67 after completing his post graduate masters work at SMU. Now some GS models may have had the Redline-wall tires, and were surely listed as a higher cost item. I swear, the stories behind these cars are about as good as the cars themselves. On my '65, the am/fm radio was an option, and as far as I know, ALL radios that year were listed as an option. But you're right; I bet not many, if ANY had NO radio. The rear seat speaker was also an option in '65, and I figure that carried to '67 as well. Most Rivs came with whitewall tires, although that was also technically an option. Glad to see it's still in your family; my car spent most of it's life in Texas too; it was owned by country singer Junior Brown for 20 years, and a man from Austin for 20 years before that, so I can trace my ownership back to 1976. Beautiful Riv; if I couldn't have a '65, the Second Gen 66-67 cars would be my next choice. If I had the money and room, I'd hunt one down. Enjoy!
RivNut
Outside mirrors were also an option. The only mirror that was standard was the rear view mirror.
