Sure things are not exactly the way the factory put it together, but it looks great and runs fine. Don't hurry the process. enjoy the time working on it. This is not the only ride I completed. Been doing this for years. Just my first Riv. Dennis, pictures not forth coming as Hagerty asking too many questions while I was away with Canadian Thanks-Giving. Now I'm back, winter is moving in. No sense for just 1 joy ride on a dry day, missed another season. Will add liability, collision and license plates next year. I did drive the Riv out of its cocoon for the 1st time just to turn it around so I could work on the other side in the garage. I have finally finished reviewing all 44+ page of this thread on pictures. I did not see any 64 Sunburst Yellow or any yellow of any of the first gen cars (maybe I missed one). So thought I would post a few pic of my 64 Sunburst Yellow. Per Darwin Falk #2077, who is a 66-70 Tech Advisor, who published an article in the Dec. 2007 Review on 64 paint colors. There are two rare colors Coral Mist Code O, at 645 cars, and Sunburst Yellow Code K, at 757 cars. That make it kind of rare at 2.01% of Riviera produced that year. Then if you add in the KX engine option, 64 there were 2122 with this option produced, so who knows how many Sunburst Yellow's had the KX engine. My 64 FB # is 1106, 08D, so late August 63 build, vin# 7K1005242, which matches the engine number. So here are some pictures, I know yellow is Not everyone favorite color, but with the saddle interior it is pretty european looking, I think. First two are with the 64 Wildcat Wheels and white wall tires. 64 Wildcat's had a silver color center. These were supposably not available for 64 Riviera, but who knows what a dealer could have done. I was waiting all week for help backing out the Riviera from its 25 year cocoon and it came with 2 hours of daylight remaining. My son was the helper and we went for fuel, a joy ride, and a photo-op out in the open away from walls and overhead doors. I let him drive part of our loop and he was amazed. Magic Carpet Ride! Just in time. Overnight, a 2nd wave of winter hit with a blizzard all day Saturday. I'm glad I didn't have to wait until next year to get my fix! I needed some immediate payback to keep my sanity. All went well however when back in the garage I couldn't disconnect the battery because the Hood was stuck. I messed with that Latch years back and still need to address it more. Also, the Dynaflow wasn't as bad as I remember it to be. But, the fuel gauge did drop a 1/4 tank for that 1 hour cruise. There's still more to do but now I can drive it between tweaks. Maybe someone can comment on the outside rearview mirror. I can't say I like the location. I've noticed all other Rivs with the mirror mounted forward on the door. Also, no B-U-I-C-K on my deck lid with no evidence there ever was any. Images show the Speedo and dashpad still out as I'm dealing with the Electro-Cruise. I know how satisfying it feels to finally get the Riv' outta long time storage, and I remember the perma-grin etched onto my son's face when he first drove it a few years ago and felt what good ol' Buick performance feels like. Great stuff. Again, too bad we didn't meet IRL at the A&W in October. Looking forward to spring and actually seeing another 1st gen Riv at some of these meets... Take care. Hi John, Your mirror placement was early in production IF it was factory installed. I believe, after tracking factory installations, the change to a more forward placement was in early November `62.
