Surfboard rack for a 47 Chevy Fleetmaster Woodie

Hi Guys, I usually post on the Riviera Forum. I have a 64 Riviera. I considered this as a different forum. I've also considered having a rack (kinda) hanging it from the roof on the inside, but haven't focused enough on the design. Trying not to put holes in my wood. Trying to come up with a way to clamp something to the roof cross pieces and strap it to that. I have a pretty cool looking board. Art -
Hi, First time on this forum. I have a 47 Chevy Fleetmaster Woodie. Looking for surfboard racks, but I don't have roof gutters. Any ideas for racks? Art

So how do I reach this David Jackson in Detroit? Art

How about a 64 rear flange yoke. Art

Hi Guys, I have a friend that has a 64 Riviera in need of a rear flange yoke. I think it is held to the rear pinion flange with 4 bolts. Can anyone help? Art

Ed, Got it! Looks good. Heard somethat the 65 grill is longer, is this true? Looking at grills now. Art
-
Steve, That is another option. Certainly makes the headlight an easier install. Have to look at that more. Art

ED, I did not. What was it. Art

OK, understand, so a person could fabricate that corner piece out of aluminum and polish it to fit in each corner. What about mounting of headlight, any helpful info on doing that? Art
-
Gene, Yes, yes that is the look I would like to achieve. How do I get there? Does the grill pretty much bolt in where the 64 grill was? I don't want to butcher my car doing this mod. What about headlights. Art

I'm just thinking of changing up my 64 Riv with a 65 grill and moving the headlights to the vertical grills. I have seen this done, but no clue what is involved. Not planning clamshell lights, just headlights behind the existing grills. Any thoughts on this. I have a very nice 64 and like to make a little change. Art

I agree. To me I thought no Fisher Body Tag was a major issue. No way to verify color or any other factory options. Way would anyone remove this tag? Art

There are LOTS of opinions on wheels, wheels sizes, and hub caps. I for one am not a big fan of big wheels (20") on older cars and I think Buick went cheap on 63-64 with hub caps, and that is MHO. The 64 Wildcat had the Buick road wheels, why not Riviera. My 64 Riviera pic below. 1. with the original 64 Wildcat wheels and white walls. 2. with US Mag, 7 x 17s front and 8 x 17s rear with DB redline (more of a hot wheel look). It was hard to move to 17s, could not imagine anything larger, but hat is me. Art

Here how they should match up on a 64 Riviera. #1 pic, is the engine serial number, which should match the body tag (vin)(#2 pic), #3 pic is just my car, #4 pic is the KX and number. Art

Is that another 64 Sunburst Yellow? Looks like saddle interior too. Art

Hi Ed, I know you know this, but just to be clear KT 401 was not offered in the 64 Riviera. Only the KW and KX 425's. Art

Has anyone installed QA-1 Front Coilovers on their 1st Gen Riviera
awk409ak replied to awk409ak's topic in Buick Riviera
Hi Ed, I did that and remembered I posted the question back then. Not many replies, that why I asked again a year later. I just keep thinking about doing it to low it a bit. Art -
I vote for a storage unit too. I left a fairly new truck in Colorado for two years in a storage unit. Yea, it cost ~$120/month but, was well worth it. Other than being a little dusty, it was still like new. It's worth the money. Think about $1000-$1200 for a unit and NOTHING is touching the paint. Art

Thanks. Just what I though. Someone at some stripped it off to have the chrome show. Prefer the mate silver or Argent Silver. I know that from the Chevy rally wheel and many of GM wheels. Thanks again, Art

The top of the 1st Gen grilles, are they chrome like the front of the grille or the mate silver like the inside portion of the grille? I have a 64 Riv. Art

Rivieras and Riviera parts for sale on local Craigslist, eBay, etc.

Pretty nice Sunburst Yellow Riv. You don't see many yellow ones. I have one too with the saddle interior and a 425 dual quad engine and AC.
