  1. And here it is in Lexington 2013. I always noticed the car but never met the owners. Time is fleeting…
  2. I believe that was Carl Blackard’s car. He had his own paint and body shop and did some work for me. Nice guy and very knowledgeable. I miss him.
  3. Over the past 30 years or so, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed driving several high-end German cars including Audi, Porsche, and MB but always on a 3 year lease so I can deduct the business miles and give it back before it breaks. The two times I made a purchase after the lease, the car promptly broke and was extremely expensive to fix. Of all the “business cars” I leased, the one I missed the most was a Jaguar, and after all these years, now I have one again. Ford really did fix their quality issues.
  4. This one has been on my car since the 1970’s
  5. Update: After years of collecting and showing cars, we won our very first “Best of Show”. Ever! Lots of interest and appreciation from the spectators at The Villages in central Florida. It ran great, too. I guess its a keeper.
  6. No, sorry, almost everything pictured was sold.
  7. Yes, I do. They are on the Tampa Craigslist for local pick-up
  8. Yardley has some videos of his ‘69 on his website and he may be able to steer you in the right direction. He is active on the 68-69 Riviera Facebook page. Or just try to find a salvaged unit.
  9. I have a 3.42 posi with a 200R4 (auto 4 speed) from a 1987 Grand National. Quick off the line yet cruises easily at 80-100 on the highway. Best of both worlds!
  10. I want hood-mounted machine guns. Was that an option?
  11. I believe 1971 Rivieras still had a bench seat. 60/40 seats started in 1972.
  12. I have not replaced my body mounts; just a body-on-frame refurbishment of an otherwise well-preserved original. No excessive gap that I can see, although the door does sag quite a bit. New bushings are on the list.
  13. Ed is correct. And this has no bearing on whether it is a Gran Sport. I refer you to the ROA members page for proper identification. Or you can post photos here and we can pick it apart.
  14. So, if these numbers are correct then one of the 454 dual quad cars was actually a Gran Sport instead (3808 - 3355 = 453).
  15. Hey Ken, I guess that last project worked out ok after all.
