Elpad
Almendrón took best of class, post war till 1957 at the MIDFLORIDA 20th Anniversary Lake Mirror Concours at Lakeland, Fl. This past weekend. Due to tropical storm Nestor with heavy rains and nearby tornados the show was moved inside to a downtown parking garage adjacent to the lakefront venue. Dave Gelinas (XP-300)
This past Saturday, I took my 1938 Buick Special to the last auto show for the year in my area. My car won Best In Show For The Pre War Division. The photo posted was taken by a professional photographer. It shows the detail of the horn ring and button of my Buick. It was downloaded to his web site showing photos of the car show. Edited October 28, 2019 by Dave Gelinas (XP-300) (see edit history)

Buicknutty
John, my son and I stayed overnight in Herkimer on our way to your show several years ago, and we drove right by that diner. Unfortunately we just eaten, didn't know it was there, but wished I'd been able to go in it. Keith

I learned about it after that event.

jackofalltrades70
Saturday, one of the founding members of the Scranton AACA region, had passed away and we (the club) attended his funeral. They asked for us to attend driving our antique cars. I drove my convertible, there was a 1932 Reo Firetruck, a 1933 Rolls Royce limo, and a1939 Chevy streetrod pickup. Didn’t really think to take pictures as it wasn’t the proper time or place Matt 3
NC1968Riviera
Last Saturday I took The Aqua Zephyr out for, probably, the last time this year. It was a beautiful fall day! We stopped beside some rural North Carolina storage tanks, a cotton field in full bloom and a cotton seed storage site. Larry Schramm
It was a great day here in south east Michigan with the afternoon temperatures around 60deg F. So I met up with Brian Heil and had a two car tour of brass/nickel cars. Him in his new used car...1911 Buick Model 33 and my 1913 Model 31. I put on 35 miles for my driving today. I also had a friend of my that hired in the same day as I did into AC Spark Plug in 1972 riding with me. Great time. dibarlaw
Brian: So glad to finally see you in the 1911! From the photo and already 500 miles on the road I think you have a winner. The fellow here in PA. with the same car has had it for probably 20 years and has yet to put 50 miles total on it. Seems like no fun to me. I would like to change that..... dibarlaw
Changed out Lucy the 1937 from our garage back to storage and brought Beulah the 1925 back home. All before the projected snow starts next week. Beulah and I did a brisk 10 miles with the top still down. (39 degrees) She needed some exercise since she has sat for over a month.

dibarlaw
Last weekend I had to change out 2 of the cars from the home garage to the storage building. I sent the 37 back to storage since we put on over 200 miles on it the previous weekend. The 1925 had not moved for over a month. So I took her for a quick 10 mile drive on a 35 degree day. That was last Saturday. Today it was sunny here in PA.so we took "Beulah" to church and then to lunch. This morning it was 29 degrees as we were on our way to church. Then the skies became cloudy and we had a snow shower. Quite some looks from some people with Joan and I all bundled up with the top still down.. We loved it!

Marty Roth
Didn't get to drive the '37 Roadmaster this weekend, but instead drove the '88 'Vette- the one which used to sport the Louisiana Personalized Antique license plate "BUICK" The plate has since been transferred to the '37 Roadmaster, and the 'Vette now wears the personalized Louisiana Antique plate "TOURING" Lest anyone raise concern as to our American Flag no longer appearing on the 'Vette, it was regrettable damaged as a result of repeated cleanings, and as in the case of a "proper" cotton flag, was "taken out of service" in the proscribed manner appropriate to our national emblem - even though it was simply a plastic stick-on. NC1968Riviera
The fall colors are as good as they're going to get here in central North Carolina. (this area isn't known for vibrant fall colors). I took The Aqua Zephyr out to catch a little of the best colors currently on display . cxgvd
Today is a fine fall day, the weather forecast is cold and rain for a long stretch. My wife and I are hosting an AACA Snapper Brass and Gas tour next summer so we are testing routes and destinations this fall. We used our 1939 Century, perhaps for the last time for a long while, to go to an original Carolinian stand of trees. Carolinian bush is an area of native to Ontario hardwood trees which has never been cleared for farms. Sinclair Bush is owned by a conservation group so it will remain beautiful. I do not winterize this Buick , so if we get dry roads at Christmas or an early thaw the car is set to travel. Gary
Buicknutty
I too, moved the Buicks around, and took the Reatta to town and back. With my '41, I do the same thing as Gary, and will take it out for spin in the winter when the roads are clear. Keith
Brooklyn Beer
In TX I am lucky I never have to winterize. We get cold snaps and ice storms but they last maybe a week at most and it is back to mid 50's. Last year zero ice or snow and was a welcome break using the heaters on the 40 degree mornings. But we don't get the beautiful leaf season.

I just slid my way back and forth to the garage several times on the ice that was snow that's now getting rained on, while I try to get my new $1300 garage door opener to work that just crapped out with a storm coming in, The door is wide open so I don't dare pull the disconnect to close it (16 foot wide 14 foot tall and two rows of glass) , it's dark out and the wife's at work so I have to keep an eye on the kids in the house while working on the opener on the other side of the property. Ready to swap any day now.

dibarlaw
Yesterday was to be the last warm sunny day for a while. Good day to take "Beulah" for a leisurely drive and put the top up for the winter. After the drive Joan helps to set the top free as it had been encased in the boot since May. Quite a wrinkled mess. Now to stretch out in the sun.
