Elpad
Not necessarily the weekend but Almendrón participated in an Amazon TV series scene as the hotel limo bringing Mrs Maisel to the Fountain Bleau, Miami Beach. Not to worry about the decals they had no glue made of pressure sensitive vinyl which easily came off afterwards

JohnD1956
Brought the '56 to last nite's edition of the Hemmings Cruise in. Drove around the reservoir and stopped at this picturesque location. and soon learned that it was not a good place to take a photo. Not good because since the road was repaved it is now frequented by speeding large trucks, and there is limited sight due to the curves in the road. This made me conscious of getting the pictures quickly and resulted in poor quality photos, again. I did get these: Honestly, I have the wrong camera for my ability. But I am not in a position to replace it at this point. So I'll have to just try to adapt. Anyway, here are some cars from the event that I thought noteworthy. A very nice '68 GS convertible! Refinished with drivability in mind, thus lightly resto-moded. One can't see the 4 wheel disc brakes, but other stuff is recognizable. Still a very nice job considering the description of the work performed. This fellow has owned this car for 40 years, A cute MGB And some Oldsmobiles One more '56 pic in front of a large old and historic church in Bennington. Maybe I should have gone inside and asked for help with this camera?
Thriller
Only about 5 miles and it’s hot enough that I wasn’t interested in hanging around or anything, but I drove the 1959 LeSabre home from the shop. Things are improved. Next step is to take it to an upholsterer for carpet and get the exterior trim installed (first need to do an inventory to see what clips are in the back of the car). Evidence?
Matt Harwood
Drove the Limited and Melanie's '56 Chrysler station wagon to Columbus for the big Arthritis Foundation car show this afternoon. It's about 120 miles, so a nice stretch of the legs for the cars. We started on the highway but it got kind of tiring (holy crap truck tires are LOUD), so we dumped I-71 and got onto some quiet country roads which were a VAST improvement. It added about an hour to our travel time, but it was 100% worth it. Quiet roads, 45-55 MPH speed limits, interesting terrain, just the way you want it to be. Both cars performed flawlessly. More from the show tomorrow! 9
MCHinson
We left Canton, Ohio Friday morning. We took the "scenic route" for the first 400 miles or so on the way home. Driving the smaller roads (Google Maps really takes the "Avoid Highways" setting seriously!) including some really narrow country lanes and interesting Ohio and West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia mountain roadways was quite fun. We traveled through a lot of historic small towns with interesting old buildings. We found an interesting smoke filled bar in Baker, West Virginia with really good burgers and fries. After leaving there, we discovered that following our Google maps generated "off the beaten track" pathway led us into a cellular service dead zone as we left the bar. After driving a while before I got phone service again, We decided to generate a new route. The car was driving so good that with regular gas and bathroom stops, we decided to go ahead and drive the rest of the way home. We arrived at about 1 am, making it a 16 hour or so trip covering a total of 671 miles for the day and a total of 1,502 miles for the week. It was a great trip, but I am happy to be home. dibarlaw
Thanks for the photos Matt! Sorry we were not able to connect on your return trip. We were able to have some time with Mark Kikta and Brian Heil, Larry Schramm and their wives at Fairfield PA. during the VMCCA nickel tour. I thought we would be able to get some photos of their Buicks in action but we were unable to return. I would like to have a copy of your route as some of those places look familiar. This type of driving is the only way to truly enjoy our cars.

Matt Harwood
Great day at the Arthritis Foundation car show here in Dublin, Ohio. Probably more than 1000 cars of all types scattered over like 20 acres of an office park with ponds and grassy areas, plus hotels and parking lots. Cars just everywhere you look. No real rules, so there's a lot of boring, ordinary stuff, but there are a few gems tucked in here and there. Reasonably well organized, although they don't really pay attention to where cars park even though there are assigned classes--for example, one kid decided his Honda was a station wagon and parked in Melanie's spot just because it was shady. Parking staff directed me to put the wagon across the aisle, and since it was longer than what was supposed to be there, park it perpendicular taking up three spaces. Then they had to find three MORE spaces for THOSE guys. All because one guy didn't feel like parking where he was supposed to. Meh. Overall a good day. Hot and the kids got burned out pretty fast, but we enjoyed it. Tomorrow we're going to the Columbus Zoo then home. Nice turn out of Buicks! Honda parked in Melanie's spot... And where she ultimately ended up across the aisle. It worked out OK other than the fact that we were cheated out of some shade for sitting. Also, the father-son team who owned the white Trans Ams behind us spent the entire day orbiting their cars with quick detailer, constantly wiping the cars down. They must have burned through three or four bottles of the stuff! We tried to get members of the Ohio Region CCCA to join us for this trip. They obviously did not. The show organizer asked me to move my car over here but I preferred staying with the Buicks. I grow weary of the CCCA's nonsense. All kinds of cars everywhere you look--something for everyone. I do like the park-like layout. Most of the stuff is pretty garden-variety but the volume of cars is fun. Wonderful 1942 Chrysler Town & Country "Barrelback" sedan in mostly original condition! 1940 Buick Limited in the "all original" class, although it appears to have a repaint. This car was presumably the Limited used in "The Godfather" and formerly owned by Greg Field. Thriller
Nice photos from Columbus. Was that a 1961 or 1962 Special beside you? Great drive Mr. Hinson. kevin1221
Matt....Thanks for the pictures from the Arthritis Foundation Show. I have attended probably 10 of these shows and always loved the event. I enjoyed the vast array of cars, as well as the bands in the evening. I have since moved to Nevada and have not attended the last 2 years. I’ll have to get get back one of these years. Thanks again. jackofalltrades70
Out Friday night to a local cruise in at the mall. Was a big turnout of cars and especially people. There was an amusement type fair set up in the parking lot next to us which brought a lot of extra foot traffic over. Note the reflection of the ferris wheel in the picture of the 47’. My son Kevin took the picture of the front of the car. He is SO talented and I think he is going to follow the picture taking passion into a career later on. He’s only 14. The yellow one is a '62 Special convertible. My friend Al Blake (who is the machinist who rebuilt my '41 Century's engine that's on my mock-up stand) also brought his wicked little black '62 with a 215 V8 and a 4-speed. I didn't know it was his when I saw it a few weeks ago at the Buick-Oldsmobile-Pontiac show. (This is the photo from the B-O-P show)
Brooklyn Beer
washed, waxed, glazed, rubbed, buffed. She earned it. Yesterday was the first day I had the old girl out for a 1 hour drive in 100 degree temps and she did just fine. Now out for a spicy meatloaf dinner.

The yellow would be essentially the same as mine then (although both the V6 and 215 V8 were available). Of course that one was at an event, so it’s definitely running better than mine at the moment. EmTee
Returned home from the ROA meet in Gettysburg yesterday. Amazingly, no rain the entire time (Tuesday --> Saturday), aside from a few 'spittles' on the windshield near the NY/PA border during the return trip. Goldie ran flawlessly, even though we were stuck in I-81 construction for almost an hour on the way down to Gettysburg. Mileage was 90,275 when we left on Tuesday; here's where she sits now: So, just over 700 miles round trip. About 40 miles of that was added during a beautiful tour of the Gettysburg countryside that we participated in with other rivieras on Wednesday evening. Check out the ROA forum for pictures and a couple of neat videos from the tour!

dibarlaw
Leon: So glad to see you and the McLaughlin out and about. We are still getting re familiarized with our 25-25 now that I feel that it is running properly. We drove it 4 times over the weekend. Since we had no rain yesterday and today we did several more drives with the top down. Still a work in progress. But, at least it is drive-able so we can enjoy it after over a year and a half of no Buick fun.. 11
philip roitman
I took the '73 Sun Coupe to the AACA National Meet in Parsippany New Jersey this past weekend. The car drove flawlessly getting there and back to NY plus 3 days of Touring and shopping in NJ for a total of 370 miles. Had a great meet and won a preservation award. We visited two fabulous collections, one was the worlds largest Mack truck collection with 4 seperate large buildings on their property and the other was a wonderful Brass era collection of cars and motorcycles, pedal cars, etc.. Both places were chock full of Automotive Art work and automobila. It was jaw dropping. Larry Schramm
Last week we took the '13 out with a bunch of friends for a one week tour in the Gettysburg area. We drove it, hurt some things, and now fixing those items. We are scheduled for another tour in Kingston, Ontario the first week of August and I need to get the car ready for that tour. Then after that tour, we are scheduled for another tour, the HCCA Old Car Festival tour in September. Nothing like keeping the wheels rolling all summer. That does not include the around town trips. Thriller
To keep the Regal closed up with the missing window, I drove the Skyhawk to the office yesterday. It’s bogged a few times accelerating turning left and yesterday actually stalled on me in just such a procedure. There’s always something. The truck is at our country place and we were out of propane, so I rolled down the rear window in the 1959 LeSabre, loaded the propane tanks, and took them to get filled. I’d checked the radar ahead and figured I could beat the rain. There were a couple large commercial tanks being filled when I got there, so I was delayed...I didn’t beat the rain - we got wet, but that’s not a big deal. It’s happened before. I enjoy the rumble of that car (louder with nothing on the metal floor) and the smoothness of the Dynaflow. I really have to drive it more. 3 1
