Your fisher body plate decodes as follows

63-4747 = 1963 Buick Riviera

03E = 5th week of March

FB 27819 = production number out of 40,000

788 = black leather

J2 = power seat

CC = Arctic white paint

D = provision for a radio but doesn’t specify which kind

S7 = remote mirror

I6 = tinted windows (that’s an I not a 1)

N2 = air conditioning

U7 = power windows

Other options that were installed during final assembly might include tilt, cornering lights, four note horns, wheel cover style, cruise control, Guidematic, twilight sentinel, etc.

You’ll need to look your car over to determine those for yourself

“The Turbinator” , AKA Bob Burnopp, has a business in which he can restore damaged cast aluminum wheel covers and he has reproduction replacement center caps.  If you’d like more information on how these unique two piece wheel covers are attached to the wheels, let us know.

Nice picture - was Tom flying the camera drone, or was it taken from the Sheriff's helicopter?  :huh:

It is a believe or not. My friend, Bill from Kent Ohio riding shot gun found the pic on the internet. A gent at the show was taking snap shots of the cars coming and going to the show grounds.

Thank you for noticing.

Where  ever you drive with this car people are certain to look. The color stands out along with wire spoke wheel, two bar spinner and emblem.
You know the beauty of these cars are timeless. I never get tired of looking at my 63. 63, 64, 65, and many other Riviera cars just have the look.

Thanks Bob, I agree. They are beautiful cars. We get a lot of compliments on the color.

I know some pictures of the US Air Force Start Cart for the SR-71 have been shared previously, but I was recently at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinnivlle, Oregon and I saw the SR-71 Nailhead-equipped Start Cart on display underneath the SR-71 also on display there.

I thought I would provide some more detailed photos of that Start Cart here.

If you are not aware, this museum is also the new home of Howard Hughes's "Spruce Goose" airplane, the largest propeller driven aircraft ever built.

Mike - thanks for posting those pics!  I remember seeing the Spruce Goose when it was displayed with the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA in the '90s.  It is an impressive machine, but I think the SR-71 tops it.  That plane still holds records that have not been beaten by anything anyone has admitted to yet...  ;)

By contrast, the Goose never climbed high enough to get out of ground effect. As I recall it was just supposed to be a high speed water taxi request, but Howard "accidentally" (yeah right!) took it airborne for a short jaunt.  5 years earlier and it might have made a difference.

Are the red knobs on the turn signal switch and tilt lever standard or are they a Turbinator touch?

Having an identical 1963 interior, I can answer that . They are standard.

I had a similar question with seat belts when putting back my red interior. It was on seat belts, they were black originals (Brownline I think). So, I thought colour keyed seatbelts where not sourced by GM until 1964 production. Not so I believe. So, maybe my original seatbelts came from a parts car or two. After 40+ years, I have some parts I can't recall where they came from?😌

My auto flash triggered ON when I tried to duplicate Bob's image. It made my red Clarks Leather look more pale than it actually is.

Gents, testing my photo editing practice.

Bob, very nice trunk! What size spare did you use? A 215-75R-15?

Of all 1st Gen. trunk images on this forum, every one turned out better than mine. Not happy with the outcome. I knew the wheel well would be a challenge. A trade secret how to do curves. Not my trade!

🆖?

No one has questioned the use of the “three speed Dynaflow” listed on the placard?
