dei
Here is my friction rear axle 1958 Buick Roadmaster with one of my trunk emblems for my full sized Roadmaster. I bought it in this condition but found out the plastic from those days does this.

MikeJS
Fun thread... apparently our toys come in ALL sizes...) This 1:25 scale '65 Riv was built and hand painted back in the early 1980's shortly after I purchased my 1:1 1964 Riv in Wedgewood blue (that I still own). Colour came close, but a tad too dark. At the time, model manufacturers were only producing the '65 Riv' scale models and they are still readily available. For the 1963, and 64 years, these models were only available in '63/64. They can be still be found on eBay, some built, some in original boxes, some $$$, and although I've since acquired a handful of the original '64 scale models, I've not got around to re-creating the 1:1 aside from this one... Although I built models as a kid, that fad faded long ago until about 10-12 years ago when my son got to be the age that he was interested in building them, so of course, I got involved. A couple of our Riv projects... Another '65... '66... (the red thing on the steering wheel is a homemade anti-theft club...) I've also collected a number of first gen Riv's in various scales, some plastic, metal, a couple small slot car racers... When I find the time, I'll take a few photos of some of those...

Wilf Sedanet
This is the only one I got. It is a Brooklyn model of a 1949 Buick Roadmaster sedanet. 1949 Buick sedanet models are very hard to come by. I know there is an “American Models AM8” which is highly detailed but it’s also a Roadmaster and very expensive. Supers are as far as I know never built which is a shame because they have the best ratios. The Roadmaster is visually nose heavy.

Wilf Sedanet
I’m sorry I forgot to mention it. It’s 1:43. It’s quite rugged and especially the front is low in detail but the boattail back makes up for it. Also it’s a one piece model. No opening doors, hood or trunk. Jack Welch
Just as an FYI, Brooklin has discontinued most if not all of their Buick Collection models. These are high quality 1/43 scale ranging from 1933 to 1939. I am phasing out as a Brooklin dealer, but still have some of these in stock. I will be letting these go at cost. If interested, please PM me.

Barney Eaton
Back at the 2016 BCA meet in Allentown, Brooklin had a display and Bulgari had a few pages in the 50 anniversary book about their models. In a conversation there, we were told that Bulgari had an interest in Brooklin models......don't know how to confirm that information.

rodneybeauchamp
Aidan’s Garage. Well it started when I bought a 1965 Buick Riviera in 1/24 scale by Maisto. It was the red version with black vinyl roof, second hand at a swap meet. I showed it to grandson Aidan on a Skype chat as he lives in Manchester in England. Well not long after, we get the email photo with Aidan and you guessed it, his own 65 Buick Riviera. It planted the seed that he needed a 1/24 scale garage to put it in, to service it, add fuel and air up those tyres. So I set about making Aidan’s Garage, as a flat pack so we can take it over to him soon and help him put it together. And yep, he will get to keep the silver Riviera as well. Just a few photos. Now, if only I could find him a ‘63 Riviera like my real one! Rodney 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

rodneybeauchamp
And here it is, set back up in the UK, with his red ‘65 and the ‘53 Skylark we found in Hamleys Toy Store. And the silver ‘65 I bought over with the garage. Aidan will be getting some Buick fun on a big scale (1/24). Just need to find some scale people! 😎😎😎😎

dei
Using Daylight Savings Time change as my excuse (and I'm sticking to that...😉) I changed out the Limited two door for the Wells Fargo model. It even has the steer head on the hood centre chrome. All in all a nicely done model of the original which by the way, still exists.

jsmittie41
AMT made a 1969 Buick Wildcat Kit in 1/25th scale and I'm pretty sure there were '69 Riviera Promotional models. I don't know of any 1/25th scale Electra 225's. Jim Smith BCA #3566

Dave Gelinas (XP-300)
I bought this today on eBay. Looking forward to it coming in. I had to buy from a model dealer in Germany. I could not find anyone selling these in the USA. Some of you may remember that fellow member "Smithbrother" built one of these from scratch a few years back. Dave Gelinas (XP-300)
My model of the 1946 Buick float came in yesterday. The quality is suburb, is very sturdy, and has some good weight to it. I highly recommend to anyone who has been contemplating a purchase. They can be found on eBay at various prices. I bought my from a dealer in Germany because none were listed from anyone in the USA. Also he had the better price and a 100% rating. They range in the $180 to $250 range. Only 333 were produced. JohnD1956
This past winter's passtime project. I wasn't really inclined to build another plastic model but I received this as a gift from my son. Since my garage has no heat it was fun to do while waiting for the driving season to start. In fact it turned out to be a very detailed model, which unfortunately is out of production. Unfortunate because I messed up the paint job two times and had to strip it and start over. In that process I screwed up some of the detail on the body. Otherwise I would actually like to get another kit and re do the body again. But it was also very detailed in the chassis. I have seen this level of detail on one other model in the past, a AMT 58 Impala model. This was very close to that. This model has a separate frame to start with And most of the suspension pieces. You can see it has the ball joints molded into the control arms and the drive shaft included the 3 constant velocity joints even though you can only see the one when installed. The floor pan is the floor for the interior So it presented it's challenges. One extra challenge is they packed the kit with taillights for their 66 Wildcat model, and the red lenses for this model are not available. So maybe another model kit would have the right ones so that can be fixed. At any rate, after several attempts to paint this one I finally gave it up and just went ahead with the build without permanently cementing it together. I'll see if I can find another kit or partial kit in the future. So here's how I am leaving it for now (I did put the passengers side mirror back on before putting it in my display case).

BenLampson67
On 8/5/2018 at 8:07 PM, Barney Eaton said: we were told that Bulgari had an interest in Brooklin models. Actually, by the time of your posting, Bulgari had already purchased Brooklin models (in 2015) and still owns them today. He also purchased SMTS models (about the same time as Brooklin) which is another maker of fine white metal models. SMTS has been crafting models for Conquest, WMCE (Western Models Collector Editions), Highway Travelers models and a few others, including their own line of models, which include Trans Am race cars from the early '70's....these are outstanding models that go by the name Boss models. Ever since Bulgari took control of Brooklin, their models have improved vastly, with crisper and more accurate bodies, more detail and just a better look. I will attempt to load some pics of some Brooklin and SMTS models. I have about 100 white metal models, and about 200 resin models. These are just some of my white metal model Buick collection. I do have some very nice Buick resin models if there is any interest here. Some of them are sans mirrors, hood ornaments, etc, but I have them....if they don't come attached, I leave them in their boxes. These models are all 1/43 scale white metal models and are not cheap, they range between $250-$350 per piece. Enjoy......
