What are your top 3 cars at the meet and why?

I don't think I would be able to take the car. But we could have fun schmoozing just the same.

Maybe Ed would pick us up at that airport and be our guide?

I didn't think they would put most of them out in the rain or I would have stopped. ( I know I don't even take my beater quality cars out in the rain)  I was actually not far away on Saturday coming back from a Funeral in Hudson Falls at around 1:30,  but the rain was coming down pretty good.  I got wet just being one of the paul bearers,  so I figured you all packed up and were in having cocktails.

Now I wish I would have stopped.  Would have definitely improved the mood of the day.

Is this the convertible sedan from the Frank Golish accumulation in California?

Not at all!  This one has had the same NY owner for >30 years.  I saw the Golisch car at the Stockton guy's place five years ago and a restoration hadn't been started--and it will be a long and tough one.

The red car has been in the same garage since I was born………58 years and counting. We did the engine in it about 15 years ago. He paid 4k for it at the time…….too much back then. There are three surviving late convertible sedans, two eights, and a twelve. The 1937 V-12 Conv sedan show car was cut up in New Jersey in 1952 while still low mileage. The dash and engine are in a boat to this day.

Are you mixing the engine job with his '31 convertible coupe? I saw that older, contested rebuild receipt and inspected the internals of the convertible engine in the early 1990s. My final comment on the engine job that cost too much was that the rebuilder wrote too little on too brief a receipt. That was done prior to his ownership.

Looks familiar, do you know if he is from Maryland.

No, from FL, and I'll let Ed answer your question in more detail.  This car received the Weis Award (Best of Show), which it utterly ran away with.

Now I see the difference from the Pierce in Maryland

This Pierce-Arrow was a fixture at Rochester, NY area car shows for decades when the well-known owner lived in the area.  I enjoyed seeing for years back then, gave me exposure to the late production models.

Yes it was a mess. My hope was that it had been done. All his cars were very sad.

The convertible sedan sat in Arizona apart for 40 years, and when I mean apart…….it was frightening. The car was available for very little money, very little. Several PA guys passed on it. Frank ended up buying it and assembling it. He even made it run…sort of. I know what value I placed on it at the time apart. Also, after inspecting it at Frank’s place when it was assembled……I came up with another number. Many parts were swapped out for ones off better “parts cars” and thus it was a car whose condition was hard to describe. I figured 3500 hours minimum to restore it correctly. A great car and worth the effort…….just needed limitless time and dollars.  I’m wondering now if it will ever get done.

This car was delivered to the factory Pierce Arrow branch in Newark New Jersey.  It was purchased new by a German engineer in New Jersey, sold to a Buffalo engineer, then to another Buffalo owner, and finally me in 1968.  It really was in great shape, and I did a frame on restoration in the 80's and 90's.  As I understand the Golish car was in very bad condition.  My car is the only one that had the divider window

Thank you to those who posted photos from this meet.  Although I was in attendance, photos from others perspective is always enjoyable!  This was our second PAS Meet, we had a wonderful time, visited a place we might not have picked on our own (a really beautiful area) and again enjoyed the company of many considerate, kind and thoughtful participants.  Looking forward to the 66th PAS Meet in Michigan!
