Particularly at 3X speed.

MotorTrend app now comes in 3 versions: regular (with advts), low lead (some advts), and super (no advts).

BTW sprained my right biceps a few days ago so been playing more with computers and TV thingies than cars lately.

NBC Sports network had 5 hrs of coverage on Sunday night, saw maybe 2 hrs before I fell asleep.  Did get to see some of the vintage drag cars go across the block.  Some brought decent money.

This was Mecum’s auction I was watching, it did it’s usual job of helping me fall asleep.  Much more predictable than counting sheep.

You could bone up on some Pontiac Engine specifications.

The 1957 Cadillac de ville with the Chevy engine was a disappointment, furthermore the comment by Steve Magnante saying with that Chevrolet engine the Cadillac will be more reliable was a real Cadillac put down. I'll take the 365 Caddie with it's dual Coupling 4 speed Hydra-Matic any day!!!

Must have been the last weeks run and done to just make a sale. Bob

The owner of the Champion Spark Plug company thought a Cord looked 'naked' without exposed freestanding headlights so one was made for him.

A '79 LTD lacked style in the first place, and those silly modifications only make it look worse.  I don't care that it appeared in National Lampoon's movie, 'Vacation' and wouldn't give anyone a nickel for it.

The movie is a comedy for people with a sense of humor which obviously doesn't include you. Professional movie critics liked it too. From Wikipedia:

The film was a box-office hit, earning more than $60 million in the U.S. with an estimated budget of $15 million, and received positive reviews from critics. As a result of its success, four sequels have been produced: European Vacation (1985), Christmas Vacation (1989), Vegas Vacation (1997), and most recently, Vacation (2015) which serves as both a reboot and a continuation. In 2000, readers of Total Film voted it the 46th greatest comedy film of all time.[3] It continues to be a cult film and a staple on cable television.

I have no idea where you got the idea I don't like Vacation, although Animal House is still my favorite of all the National Lampoon full length movies.

No 1985 full-size Ford is worth $28K, regardless of its prominence; especially a CLONE like the one you linked!!

There are always dozens of cars that sell for a lot more than they're worth at BJ auctions. There was a '50s VW bug that sold for over $40k....

That's the prime reason B-J is so entertaining to many, just to see what insane prices some vehicles command.

That '50's VW Beetle was a bargain compared to the 23-window Type 2 that sold there for over $200K a few years ago.

Great entertainment. Tape it and then watch in FF until something nice comes along. Or look for humor: A nice looking ‘55 Crown Victoria was was quest up outside, waiting it’s turn on the block. As the show went to a commercial, the overhead camera showed the Ford puking its guts out (coolant) on the pavement- someone put a rug down to collect the flow. I guess idling for an extended period in the Arizona warmth was too much for its cooling system.

Exactly.  I don’t get it.  I like cars.  I like this site.  I like watching the cars on the auction.  I’m not going to find something in that I don’t like just so I can complain about it.

Was wondering since you are a Buick guy, does it bother you when one of the presenters says a 46 or 47 Roadmaster has sweep spear styling instead of the correct term of " Air Foil Styling" ??

No it doesn’t bother me at all.  I like seeing the cars.  If I was a buyer or seller of a particular car, then I would care.

So spreading misinformation to the public doesn't matter?

When it has to do with old cars in this production, not really.  90% of the people watching don’t care to know anyway.  They are casual observers, not true car people.  It’s not a documentary.  We all choose what bothers us.  This doesn’t bother me.

Remember, the auction caters to the public who has a general interest in vintage automobiles, not marque specialists.

Most everyone who is not into Buicks will know what their trademark 'sweepspear' is vs. 'Air Foil Styling' which was only used for a few model years.

Its all part of the Post War car drivel, try to impress others with factory option and sales brochure hype. I notice the color differences, displacement and axle ratios are meaningless as is the other tid bits of info. Bob

Here is part of the description, I don't really think this is an original car, A good price yes, But is restored or refurbished.

"The exterior wood and interior were recently redone. This is very original car."
