  • Peter Gariepy changed the title to First ride - 1933 Lincoln KA

Phil and I just spent six hours pulling the wheels off the Custom Dietrich Packard to clean the white walls and spokes.........BIG BUMMER!

Great car, thanks for sharing this! A close friend had a 1934 Lincoln K series  7 passenger sedan and it was also all blue with white walls. Great car. Like any old car if they are sorted out right the first time around then it is 'riding like gliding" . Love the colors of both the car and wheels - it is why the whitewall tire work so well as a whole visual entity, if the wheels were a bright contrasting color you would loose the whole perspective of the car.

It is even more fun on a Duesenberg with chrome wires and double whitewalls and of course to add to the fun let's do sidemounts with metal covers and an exposed backside of whitewall tire.

As with all the cars we currently love - they are indeed USED CARS. When this grand Lincoln was 4 years old the Kelley Kar Company "blue book" which was a wholesale used car value guide that was used by car dealers gave the value of Lincoln standard and custom models as you can see here. Note that 5% was added for "six-wheel equipment"  Compare the Factory price to the right with the wholesale price to the left.

Kelley Kar Company was located in Los Angeles at South Figueroa Street which was the main center/location of new and used automobile sales for that city.

Looks to be a 1932 with the straight belt molding. The '33s have a curved upward toward the front.

No, W C Field’s car is a ‘33.   The radiator shell is sloped & veed and the front fenders are skirted.
