I'm getting vertigo just looking at the picture!

First shot the lad looking pretty unimpressed by the barn find, pretty sure was still upset from selling the Moke! Seems once we gave the Riv a quick bath, whacked her in the garage and he sat on a bucket in it, all was starting to feel better. What a difference the paint colour can display depending on light and angle!

RHD is very cool!  Did not know they did a version.

No factory RHD, these days it is an expensive conversion to get it right. In this case probably in the 60’s or 70’s the major part was modifying the chassis to handle the steering box. That looks over engineered but some of the dash and heater duct mods were less than pretty so we will be refining some of that.

In previous posts in this thread and other threads, there are discussions about proper ride height.  I suggested that the horizontal stainless strip was the same height as the center of the wheel.  Here’s a factory photo of a 1964 that shows that my suggestion is pretty close, not exact, but close.  Actually the bottom of the body line of the bump out lines up with the center of the wheel.  Nothing like old factory photos to use as a guage.

Sweeeeeeeet!

Hopefully when mine is finished it will look half as nice.  Mine too is silver with black custom interior. Odd combination of options on mine. AM/FM with rear seat speaker, rear window defroster, wood wheel, power windows, other basic options but no power seat.

Ken, could you post a picture of the Fisher Data Plate?

Thanks,

Ed

Wow you’re freeking me out with that shiny silver! My car was original silver and had thoughts of taking it back there I hope you haven’t cost me a whole lot more resto dollars with those photos…I did buy an extra lotto coupon today🤞

Looks a lot better than the last time I saw it. Great job, Ken

Thanks Steve - It is ABSOLUTELY the last car I will ever restore 😁! Highly recommend buying someone else’s restoration and tweaking as you see fit .

Good advice. Lately that’s just what I’ve been doing.

Car at the resto shop for celebration of its 3rd week March 60th birthday!!!

Going down south to see it in 2 weeks and although no assembly has started (just engine and trans rebuild) all the parts have arrived from various suppliers and forum members so will get to go through all that, thanks to many for your help!
Some great news that MyUS admitted the error of their ways and refunded over 2000 aud so good they came to the party as we understand things can go wrong but admitting fault is rare so Bravo!!
Happy 60th to all you 63ers🎉

@kreed,

Nice restoration!  The color combination is fantastic.  It’s fantastic to see a 1965 with fresh silver paint.

You mentioned that you changed the stance up a bit.  How did you accomplish that?

Nicely optioned!

Thank you!  It took me awhile to find a heavily-optioned car that was clean and original (this one has had one repaint in its original color).  Patience paid off.

Nice like the interior color, does know where to get the R door panel emblem?

Thank you.  Unfortunately I do not know where to source the door panel emblem from because I’ve not been in the market for one

CARS or OPGI might have them aftermarket. I might have some in my parts bins. Are yours missing?

What are the circular things in the back seat of the Riv in the 4th pic?

“Slanted pipe speaker cover, commonly known as an organ pipe speaker grille goes perfectly with and fits nicely in the rear deck behind the back seat under the window.” Taken from an ad that I found.
