  1. Thanks Pete. That 1912 Radiator is a real find! Did anybody you know buy it?
  2. Led the Mackinaw Tour today in the 1931 Model 67 (the latest addition to my stable). This was it's first day tour, and it ran quite nicely around Lacamas Lake WA. We had a picnic lunch at Camp Currie with SMORES for dessert!
  3. Great to see you guys having fun again! Was there much Buick stuff this year?
  4. Full choke & crank until it pops. Push choke half way in & start. Keep it half way in for about a mile until it worms up to run without choke.
  5. I recall it to be about 3/8" thick flat bar bent into a J shape and mounted to the side frame rail.
  6. From yesterday's test drive... 1931 Model 67 2nd photo added showing muddy tires...
  7. It seems he has checked everything else. So, he needs to check the not-so-obvious now. Remember when I found a ball of solder shorting the points in my 15 speedster? The cap might not have been completely locked down or the rotor may have had something under it to make it run. I am just suggesting other options....
  8. Did a test run with this 31-67 for just under 30 miles today. I stopped at a friend's garage & took this photo...
  9. About the only other thing it could be is a misalignment of the new cap & rotor. I suggest you measure the height of the rotor contact relative to the cap contacts to make sure the are at the same height when the cap is installed.
  10. Carmover, Are your spark plug wires carbon filament or solid copper wire type? Have you checked continuity between each of the spark plug wire connections to the contacts inside the distributor cap?
  11. A friend from Portland OR needs this transmission. Please respond with a private message to me as I do not frequent this part of the forum.
  12. Ken, Perhaps you should just dress the high lobes to match and have a uniformly worn cam like Brian's.
  13. I do recognize some of those Buicks and their owners from the eastern side of the country. Here are a few from the western side. 1913 Model 31 1912 Model 34 1915 Model C25 Modified Speedster 1908 Model F
  14. I confirm Gary's comments and will add that Sandy Olsen is a true hero for this hobby!
  15. I use my 4 post lifts for storage as well as servicing.... A sliding cross-member provides a base to jack up front or back to remove wheels etc. No worries & no crawling on the floor to set the arms either...
  16. I think at least one company that serves car collectors should offer a 6V jump starter with an integral air pump like this one:
  17. Modifying old cars into "Jalopies" started when servicemen returned from WWII.
