  1. An old sash window latch would be much easier to find. sash window latches - Bing - Shopping
  2. Marvel carbs were used on several makes other than Buick. If this was from a Buick, it would have been for a 4 cylinder 165 cu in engine made in the early teens.
  3. This is my newest addition. It is an un-restored Buick 1931 Model 67 parked in front of the Polly Gas Station at the WAAAM West museum in Vancouver, WA USA.

  5. I found this somewhere on The Internet. Sorry; I didn't capture the author. Buick Thermostat Bellows Repair These are fairly easy to repair. Perform an air leak-down test using 5-10 pounds of air. If necessary, solder the repair which is usually a crack in the bellows section. When disassembled, use bright light against the suspected section to see the leak area. After soldering together, fill the unit half way (and I mean only half way) with Methyl Alcohol using the "soldered over" fill area in the rear of the unit. You can also replace the soldered fill hole with a machine screw and nylon washer with sealant. Using the machine screw method also makes it easier to perform the leak-down test. Methyl Alcohol is used in some brands of Dry Gas products, so read the labels carefully. I found mine at a local Rite Aid drug store. Do not use Ethyl or Isopropel alcohol. Test the unit in a pot of boiling water before reinstalling. Cost of Solder: $2.50 Cost of Dry Gas: $2.99 Repairing it yourself: Priceless!

  7. I too joined in 2005, and have almost as many posts. So you're not alone here Dave...
  8. Sadly, George McMurtry is quite ill and will no longer be making hub pullers.
  9. I suggest you post a photo of what you need...
  10. My glove box door is not as faded as the rest of the original dash. Someone advised that it was probably left open and not exposed to the sun when in storage for several years. However, I believe it is a replacement with a working clock.
  11. Frame number should be on a plate behind the left front wheel. If you are not into judging and really like the car, it doesn't matter if it has a few "aftermarket" items. It only matters if you need to replace a part that may not fit correctly.
  12. Dave, I agree with my friends Larry & Marty. Death wobble is most typically due to worn king pins and can be remedied by increasing castor or by replacing the king pin bushings. But before you try increasing castor, you should jack up each front wheel and check your king pins again by trying to wobble your front wheels top to bottom. If you have any wobble, your king pins need attention.
  13. I am a volunteer at WAAAM West in Vancouver WA USA. I believe they may still offer both the Hood Rv. and Vancouver museums covered by one admission. Home - Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum (waaamuseum.org)
  14. Dave, I have never heard of that part being responsible for what you describe as a shimmy. Is this shimmy what you feel in the steering wheel? Does it happen only on rough roads?
  15. Yes, the wire spring retainers are original.

  18. These are not original 1920 Buick tools. They appear to be for an early tractor or truck.
  19. Make your own two ply (soft/scratchy) car cover by first covering with a bed sheet followed by a cheap commercial car cover.
  20. Most of us with older Buicks install a quarter turn valve ahead of the sediment bowl or fuel filter. Just close the valve when parked. However, I have often started my Buick without opening that valve...... (My nag-avator now reminds me every time). 🤥
  21. Probably the most important item on my list...
  22. Most often, it's not just the torque or HP, but the size of the brakes and weight of the tow vehicle that establishes the vehicle's tow rating. One option I think many overlook is the weight of the trailer itself. I tow all my Buicks with a 2019 Yukon Denali and a 20' all aluminum enclosed trailer. When the tow rating is marginally exceeded by the total weight of the trailer & load, it might pay to buy an all aluminum trailer instead of upgrading to a diesel truck. Just my opinion... I also believe in keeping the load under 80% of the tow rating because you will always have more stuff to put in your trailer....
  23. Yeah, but lifting the heavier hitch to put it into the receiver gets old as you get older....
  24. Sorry it wasn't interchangeable.....
