The final year of the truly big and heavy (4,000 pound plus) Rivieras—in a very attractive color combination. At this point, my research tells me that 1976 was an all-time high for the amount of available individual options on the Riviera, with that number sitting at about (gasp!) 90. It would be an interesting exercise to count how many of those options this particular Buick has.

EmTee
About this vehicle This 1972 Buick Riviera is an original with updates to the exterior. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle is drivable and is used as a daily driver. So, the current owner has apparently driven this car about a mile or so per day (assuming it hadn't moved in the previous two years...). RivNut
When my 63 was built, black was not too common. But drive down the streets today and there are way too many black cars. Some with blacked out windows, black aftermarket wheels, and black trim. Damned hard to see at night 😬. Must have taken place when Al Davis changed the colors the Oakland Raiders to black because he said it was intimidating. Then everyone got on the bandwagon and it's just another color now. What ever happened to the reds, greens, and blues? it seems that 8 out of 10 cars fall into the grey tones which range from white to black. Maybe Henry Ford had it right when he said "Customers can have any color they want as long as it's black." Most of the people that have them should not have a black car, because they don't keep it clean. Nothing worse than a dirty black. Cleaning it is only half of the job, they need to be waxed periodically too. IMO😁 Art
