63RedBrier
Looks nice for the price! Re-chrome the bumpers and have fun...
kingrudy
I would add to the re-chrome list to check the wiring, so that you don't see your pride and joy go up in flames. When I purchased my '40 Buick it did not occur to me that 80 year old wiring might be brittle and subject to shorting out. Nice looking car.
Fossil
Just going from the photos I'd say the price is fair. Hoping they haven't been driving it without the air filter.

Hudsy Wudsy
It looks to be in wonderful shape, especially if it has 83,494 miles on it. Sadly, New Hampshire may as well be on a different planet. 1
suchan
Black car, blackwalls, trim rings: great look. Great price, too. My dream car (at the moment) is a '38 Buick Century with the same setup.

My dream car (at the moment) is a '38 Buick Century with the same setup. Oldsmobiles, like others of this era, probably came with "sunburst" painted designs on the wheels. Those probably served to date cars quickly and were painted over by used car lots. I can't say that I always like them in all cases, but this one could use something similar. Fossil
Was Oldsmobile still using wood in their bodies at this time?

B Jake Moran
At that price it will be sold soon. Price sells cars. In this case, he enjoyed the car and now wants to move it on without greed. I seldom see 8 cylinder Olds from this era.
Steve_Mack_CT
Personally I like GM sedan styling through the lineup of this era. Wood is always a concern but if that is ok, this is a fair deal all around.

Hudsy Wudsy
I don't guess any of us are surprised. Someone got a nice car if the wood is sound.

True, and I think that while the market for these sort of cars may not be what it was 20 years ago, this is the type of car that would appeal to a lot of folks looking at a prewar car to have some fun with. Which leads to sentiment #2. The type of car you hate to see butchered after having come so far... Hope new owner enjoys the upcoming season! Small town Memorial Day parade, Spring dust off show and ice cream shops are only a couple months out...

Fossil
It's actually an 8 cylinder. One plug hiding behind the upper radiator hose fitting and the other under the horn.
SC38dls
Barrington IL is one of the elite suburbs west of Chicago. So that automatically makes the price of this car double what it was purchased for in CT. There are about as many horses as people in that area but more horses a$$es than horses so if interested be wary of what you will have to deal with. dave s 4

ericmac
I like this car a lot but can't get my head around the price. The condition makes the car appealing but it is, at best an entry level car. That said, I would buy it if it was close and if I had a spare garage stall calling my name.
