  1. That color Green is a well you know...............................................
  2. Nice car. I'd hate to be "J walking" in front of him when he hits that horn. Is it just the light or is the hood a different color?
  3. The whole Avanti thing makes sense until I look at the front of it. If they would have tapered the front end down like the Vette or Jag they would have had a block buster. Maybe something on the order of the Volvo P1800. Instead they just chopped it off and stuck two round headlights there. What a disappointment. I know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so forgive me.
  4. 36,000 miles of driving in the city puts a lot more wear on the pedals. I wonder if it has over-drive?
  5. That color must have been very popular back then. Reminds me of a Sugar Daddy candy bar. Otherwise it's beautiful.
  6. Personally I think the name Camaro sums up GM's story in the last 10 years. I'm interested in Electric cars but I don't think GM's idea of going all electric is a wise decision or is it going to shore up a floundering company. Just seems like for the foreseeable future there will be a need for an internal combustion engine of some sort. Especially in vehicles that do any long range or heavy hauling.
  7. As I recall people who owned Model T's knew how to work on them also. If they didn't there was a Mom and Pop service station just down the road that could get it going again. It would be a few years after your car before the automobile really started to become reliable for the long haul. You have a neat looking car there.
  8. Thanks for letting us know how things turned out. Good to hear that you solved your problems.
  9. Not only the design studio that's at fault, the brain dead people who approved it for production are as much to blame. What a waist of a wonderful slant 6.
  10. One thing I was told by a first responder about those vans, "just remember your going to be the first one to the accident". He had to remove someone from one of those vans after a wreck and he said the the front end was basically shoved right into the front seat. The only thing separating you from the rear of the next vehicle is some very thin sheet metal and the steering column. I must be a Bone Head because I still like them.
  11. It looks to be an early 70's VW van. Otherwise known as a type 2. I had one very similar to it except it was blue and white. Mine was a 1970 and except for the color looked like your photo. I sure enjoyed driving that thing but my wife didn't as she kept jumping curbs when cornering. 🙄
  12. My 30 DeSoto is known as June Bug. If the bug had wheels there is a remote resemblance.
  13. The down side is the colors. I've never been a fan of Pepto-Bismol.

  16. Not too bad. It was only doing about 15mph.
  17. Congratulations on the sale. Hopefully the young man will finish the project and develop a life long interest in old vehicles. Hopefully it won't turn into another hotrod.
  18. Price seems reasonable but the interest here will be near zero.
  19. Purely speculation. Exceptional or higher end cars are going to continue to increase in value. Cars like mine are going to remain stable or decrease in value. Average projects are going to have a hard time finding buyers.
  20. If that car is in the condition it appears to be in I could live with that seat and the price seems fair.
