She’s all back together and everything is working again. Pretty bloody happy to have all done.
I’ll get to the luggage trunk done during the week but at least the car is finished. 31AC95B4-B3BB-414E-8283-1DB6396AF527.jpeg.b18e6fdc27f5d791e55c001a7aa99758.jpeg2F145217-A13F-445A-A0FF-A241EB0CDAB6.jpeg.b33587b03eafff7e1e095f05991812c2.jpeg

Made a start on repairing the luggage trunk.
I wanted to try fix the original one I made as it would seem a waste to throw it away.
with a few bits replaced it’s going to be ok.
I’ll get to and get it all undercoated now.

Looking good, Matt

hay just a unrelated question, are you able to engage that overdrive in second gear to split that gear and achieve second gear overdrive? Or is there a minimum engagement speed.
  Thanks

Thanks Ken, no you can split it in all 3 gears. Not in reverse though they blow up so you need to make sure it’s disengaged.
Probably Locking it in, in first would work well. Give you more than 3feet travel in first and stretch it out to 4. 😂

My luggage trunk is all repaired and painted. Bit of luck I’ll have it back on the roadster tomorrow.
Ive taken pics of the pinstripping stages for anyone that is interested in an easy way to get painted pin stripes on there body work.

First step is to spray some gold or whatever colour you choose for your stripe and spray it where it’s needed.

Next step is to use fine line automotive tape for your pin stripe. Lay it down where you want it and be sure to push it down firmly every where.

Next is to spray your colour over it all. Because I have a 2 tone box I have an extra step. Cream colour first as it’s the easiest to mask up.

Next is to mask your first colour out and then apply your second colour.

Once it’s dry enough you can pull all the masking and fine line tape off and clear coat over it all. If using solid colour then no clear would be needed.

Better than new, take two.  Looks great.  I would still like to know what you Aussies are drinking to get you so productive.  The whole lot of you are putting me to shame.

Coffee lots of coffee. I’m actually a bit happier with the way some bits have turned out. Shannons insurance has actually been harassing me for photos of it finished. They have emailed me twice and rang last Wednesday wondering why it wasn’t finished so I thought I better pull my finger out. I did tell her I can’t go down the road and buy this stuff it has to be made.
I’ve  re sewn the top last night so going to fit that back up today. Hopefully my plan to tighten it up works.

Much happier with my top now, it’s not quite as embarrassing as it was. I put a dart seam on the back top edge on both sides and it’s all as tight as a drum now. Learnt to take a bit more time in fitting it all up. F433DA6D-0820-4663-AC1E-02592B31CB15.jpeg.13acc38aa68253b840f2e6c6e8a0a15f.jpeg4B4B553E-1360-4ACA-A4A9-8D25FB67EDF7.jpeg.389aa56d2af11ebb383bdb71ce0b6373.jpegI was able to get the back corners sitting a little nicer also. Pulled them up and stapled them to the back bow before stapling the top down.

Going for a little night drive down our dead end street tonight to see how the new LED H4’s go in the headlamps. Not allowed to go to far.

Probably be a white dull spread now instead of a yellow dull spread.

There was one asleep on the side of the road here the other day with a pink stripe on him.
I know Ron has a few loose in his top paddock. 😂🤣

I think he has to shew them away to get to his shed some days.

The roos should be able to see you coming with those headlights. Matt, there was a wallaby running loose for a few days about 40 miles from here. No one has admitted to owning it yet. Are you missing any?

That would be a rare sight  over there wouldn’t it Doug.

Made some little brackets today to keep my side curtains in a safe place while not in use. They sit up nice and tight against the back of the front seat. 0F559708-0A1A-4996-B7A1-A147AB008467.jpeg.5a616e2f928a54a928a2e5b95e929f75.jpeg3DC5818B-30AA-4298-B99A-2EDE2D9C8FFB.jpeg.369d91ddc4f119cee85477878ed47c5f.jpegSo they shouldn’t be to much in the way if someone is sitting in the back.
And that’s about it it’s finished.

A fine job, now what?

Cheers fellas.
I’m over the moon with the car and my own next project is going to be turning a Budd sedan into a coupe. Dodge’y Pete has one out at his place with my name on it.

I have couple of jobs I need to finish off and lots of wheels to make for people. We are moving soon I think so I won’t be starting my own new project until then. I think it will be a fun challenge making a 5 window coupe.

This is what Ron had to put up with this morning going to his shed Doug.

Thanks Ian I’m just dying to be allowed to go out and use it now. I just sit in the garage with the engine running bouncing up and down on the seat, sticking my head out the door pretending to yell a P platers. 😂
