RivNut
Thanks Jason, After looking at the picture, I think I’ve figured out why I thought that car was such a good looking car - it’s void of the usual ‘70 side spear. Very nice smooth clean panels. Ed Edited April 6, 2022 by RivNut (see edit history)

RivNut
I should have acted about 8-9 years ago ( before Riviera prices skyrocketed) when I found a triple black 1970 GS buckets seats w/ full console and <75K miles. At the time the seller was asking around $6,500. 😢

Pat Curran
Beautiful color. I don’t know why this color wasn’t more popular back in the day. It is rare today and even more so on a GS. For $100K, it would be nice if the door jamb switches worked unless the battery was disconnected when the pictures were taken.

I agree 100% but I’m always amazed at what these big classic car dealers will say when they really have no clue. I found the 1957 Austin Healey that I once owned, it was on a Buick dealer’s used car lot. When I looked under the hood I noticed something really unusual. Someone had used the big circular clamp that was used to route the fresh air duct to the cockpit to mount a horn. When I pointed it out to the salesman he scoffed and said “don’t care, some sucker will buy it as is. We don’t want to spend any money on it.”

Some spell checking would also be in order.
steelman
They have either had this car for a while, or it was traded back to them. I have a picture of this car in the same showroom that I have had for a few years. Need to look at it and check the date. Looks like I was wrong? Found one in my file in this showroom, but it was black. Found another the right color, but it had a vinyl top. 4400 pics in this file I call a rolling car show that serves as my screensaver, desktop background, so I might have missed it. NC1968Riviera
I am still selling 1967-73 synthetic felt trunk mat kits for those who may need one. 67-70 kits come with full color installation instructions. 1971-73 kits come with an abbreviated list of directions/recommendations. Kits are $125 plus $10 shipping to USA addresses only. I only sell to out of USA customers if you have a US based shipper to which I can ship the kit to. Overseas shipping has gotten too expensive to ship directly to those customers. My apologies for that inconvenience. Check out my original/updated posting with photos below. EmTee
That doesn't look like Riviera Gold to me. Also, those appear to be later ('71-up) road wheels judging by the center caps and what appears to be use of a hefty spacer between the wheel and drum. While I'm at it, get rid of that Edelbrock carb and go back to the correct Quadrajet. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ySsAAOSwvLFiarbu/s-l500.jpg

I wonder how well the kickdown/switch pitch works; that linkage looks cobbled together to me.
RivNut
It appears to me that there’s an adapter between the carb and the manifold that has allowed a square bolt carb to be mounted on a Q-jet manifold.

They are huge and it would be unsafe to drive! Remove them and the the wheel will rub the drum, but usually only a 1/4" spacer is needed to prevent rubbing. Looks like a quickie cheap paint job and no attention paid to masking or other details. 🤔
