Purchased about 4 years ago, our owner bought this big bronze Riviera from an estate sale in Iowa. He is now the 3rd owner of this 50 year old beauty. About 2000 miles have been clocked on the car since he took delivery and completed a few very important mechanical repairs and upgrades during that time. Almost all original inside and out, this gorgeous Riviera was stored inside for 20 some years. This has a lot to do with the exceptional condition of the car.

Stunning in its original Burnished Bronze paint and white vinyl roof, our gorgeous, sleek Riviera is simply one of the most beautiful cars made in the 1970s. A boat tail design that is reminiscent of the 1930s Auburn Speedster and even the 1963 split-window Corvette, this long, sleek Buick features it’s all original steel body and arrow-straight panels. The body’s condition is impeccable. There are 2 small issues to note. The door seals are due for replacements and there is a tiny bit of surface rust near the passenger rear wheel well opening. Even with the original door seals there is no wind noise in the cabin. All of the extensive chrome- the bumpers, the side trim, window trim, and factory badges are all there and look great. The white vinyl roof is original as is all the glass, and hubcaps. The paint is original and looks good from 10 feet, but there are some splotches visible on the rear of the car.

The original white vinyl front and rear seats of the beautiful Riviera are still in excellent condition. Those old-school GM seats are the essence of quality and durability. This car is 50 years old, but is sure doesn’t look that way from the inside. With only 36K original miles, the interior is pristine. From the dash to the original carpet and floor mats, this super clean big Buick is a two-door time machine. The clock is not operational at this time nor the AC, but everything else inside works. The factory 8-track is still in place, but has been supplanted by the owner with an aftermarket stereo installed. Original features that came on the car like power steering, brakes, rear defroster and cruise control are all there. As for the AC, our Owner has removed the belt that drives the compressor. Electric windows work fine, too.

The exciting, innovative styling of the Riviera is matched with the biggest engine Buick has ever made. The 455 cubic inch V-8 with Rochester QuadraJet four-barrel carb gets the job done. With enough torque to pull a house down the street, the still-fresh motor has undergone a few procedures since our owner bought it. The entire fuel delivery system has been cleaned and cleared, including cleaning and sealing the original gas tank. New plugs and wire have been installed and a HEI electronic ignition fitted to replace the original points set up. After sitting so long, the block was flushed multiple times to make sure the coolant flow is optimal. A new radiator was also fitted. The carb has been rebuilt as well. A 3-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission shifts the gears. It is all original and works perfectly. The big Riv came with discs up front and drums in the rear. A brake refresh was recently done on all 4 wheels. The car runs, stops and drives very well.

This car is being auctioned on a new classic car auction site. We provide a 3rd party inspection, professional photos and a walk around video - See the auction here - https://www.clasiq.com/auction/1972-buick-riviera/

Hello everyone!  I'm new to the forum and thought this would be the best spot to list my 66 Riviera.

This Riviera has been in my family since it was new.  Back in 1965, my Dad borrowed his friends' 1965 Buick Riviera to take my Mom on their first date.  Her father was so enamored by the car that he went to the dealer to order this 1966 the very next day.  When they took delivery, the Riviera became my grandparents' new baby - they took it everywhere and showed it off to everyone.  My Dad added the trailer hitch to it so my grandparents could tow their airstream.  This car moved my grandparents from CA to WI and back to CA in the late 60s-early 70s.  When my Dad was discharged after his service during the Vietnam war, this car picked him up.  I have many memories of cruising in the backseat when I was little with my grandparents driving.  My grandmother drove this car a couple times a week to the grocery store down the street through the 90's and 00's.  She stopped driving in 2010 when she was 93 and passed the car onto me.

Why am I selling it?  Ever since I've taken possession of the car, I've never had the time to truly enjoy it.  As time goes on, it's harder and harder to just watch the car sit in the garage - it's rarely driven, but always cared for.  This car deserves to be driven and enjoyed.  It's time for someone else to take it and make new memories.

Overall, it's in very good condition.  21790 miles showing (I believe it to have turned over once).  It comes with a CA title that bears a "salvaged" stamp - grandma got in a little fender bender with it years ago so it has a hood, grille, and passenger front fender from a GS.  The paint is about 15 years old and is about 8/10 (has a handful of small chips here and there and could use a good clay bar).  Interior is original - it could use new carpet (grandpa's old battery tender burnt a spot on the carpet in the rear DS footwell) and a fresh coat of paint on the rear defroster cover.  All the electrical items worked the last time I tested them.  It has its original drivetrain with the 425 nailhead.  It starts easily, drives good and stops straight.  The AC blows cold.  It could use a tune-up, some new shocks, and new tires.  The passenger side muffler has a hole in the bottom where grandma always scraped the curb getting the car into the driveway.  The input seal on the rear end seeps and should be replaced.  The fan shroud is missing and it needs a new fan clutch.  Comes with a few misc spare parts, a spare rim, and factory manuals.  If you have any questions, please ask.

Heater and ac panel is different place and seats have different style?

A/C controls are correct for a 64, but seats are not correct for either 63, 64, or 65, neither standard or custom.  Not even from a Wildcat.  Looks kinda like some Tijuana Tuck N’ Roll

Seen on FB Marketplace. I am not associated with this rather pricy listing.

1956 Buick Riviera On Ebay

Mason, this isn't a knock on you but I get really irritated with sales listings for 1950's Buicks that just have "Buick Riviera" in the title/description.
So many current sellers are using this selling title to take advantage of the increased prices of Riviera models to bump up the price of their 1950s cars.

My two cents worth...

3D printing is beginning to fill the void of "unobtanium" parts!

condition: excellent
cylinders: 8 cylinders

odometer: 40534
paint color: green
size: full-size
title status: clean

Very nice 1963 origional buick rivera, ps,pb,pw, auto, air, body is very straight and paint is about 90 percent with some spots that need redone, good dual exhaust, new tires, decent chrome and very nice stainless, detailed trunk with jack, wrench and spare tire. Mileage shows 40534 miles and believed to be correct. alum. radiator, detailed motor compartment, New rubber door seals. all electric windows work. very nice origional hubcaps. New tune up, oil change and filter, brakes redone and very little wear in the drums, Updated sterio, new dash cover. All paint is probably about 90 percent with some small places that need touched up. I dont think this car has ever been in any kind of a wreak. Car is in Omaha Nebraska. Very little left to finish this car or drive as is.
