Mine was a 1939 Cadillac V-16, seven passenger touring sedan. When I bought it in 1963, it was in unrestored but good condition with about 65,000 miles on the odometer. It still had the lube stickers from a Florida dealer dated 1942 and East Coast "W" radio station letters on the radio. That car had the longest hood I have ever looked down. It idled so smoothly that I had to check the oil pressure gage to be sure it was running. When I started school at the University of Washington, I sold it to a guy who really wanted it. I wish I'd kept it. I don't know what happened to it.

Ahh Steve, that's a tough one, limiting it to one. Looking back over the years though, I think I'd have to say my Triumph GT-6+ was the most fun. But then my 57 Chevy was my first love and you never forget your first love. My 67 Chevelle was my fastest. My 67 VW bus was a "trip". And of course me and my Buicks are growing old together so I love them too. SEE I told you this was a tough one. I'd feel guilty if I were to come out and say which one was my favorite.Kinda like asking sombody which of their children are their favorite, ya know.

Excluding the Amphis I currently have (Certainly most fun), I miss my (2)'66 Cadillac ragtops (one died on a BIG tree, the other I sold) and the '64 Jetstar 88 Ragtop (tripple light blue), and the '69 Bonneville Ragtop (3 dueces on top a 428, MMmmm!!) and the '88 H-D FLSTC/TLE and and and ......... grin.gifsmile.gifcool.gif

The 2nd '66 Caddy DeVille ragtop I should have kept. It was originally white with RARE red leather factory buckets covered with a white top. That car had been stolen from a body shop. 11 months, 2 weeks later after I had retrieved the title from the garbage as a keepsake, I got it back. It was not running when stolen but I drove it home from the impound lot! It was found in a body shop in primer, days away from paint and new interior. Missed it by this > < much! mad.gif I sold it, the J-88 and the Bonneville to help buy my house.

I can't pick one, sorry!

My most favorite so far has to be my 51 Buick. I just enjoy the heck out of driving and showing her even though she still needs some work.

The one I wish I still had has to be the 55 2nd Series Chevy truck I sold about 5 years ago but i'm looking for another one. LOL Carl

I'll forever kick myself for selling the Nat Rayburn built "Chrysler-Ford Special" an ARCA road race car from the late 1930's. Sold it, bought it back two years later, then sold it again, never knowing its full history. At the time race car pedigree was not of the importance it is today. I could never backtrack its history futher than @1953 when it ran in the SCCA Hill Climb at Mt. Equinox in Vermont where this photo was taken.

My favorite was my '63 La Sabre 4 door sedan, 401/410 wildcat engine. Massive car, massive power. My hubby SOLD it mad.gifmad.gifmad.gif(was not a very happy camper) and he had to pay for it for 1 1/2 years in outhouse basement til he got me my '76 Olds Cutlass Salon with t-tops grin.gif. Now he's allowed back in the house (after being hosed off). But I do have to say I also like my '71 300-gotta love a huge car with a big block that goes real fast down the track.

1961 Plymouth Valient-Dad's car, 1st learned to drive on it, cute as could be. It was a black two-door with the could-not-kill 225 slant six and a push-button torqueflite tranny. Had red interior and that sexy fake spare tire thing on the rear trunk lid. The car was quick and peppy, very stylish (think they won a Motor Trend styling award that year) and as I can recall, it handled pretty well. Won many a stop-light grand prix with that. Rev it up in neutral, press #1 and it would burn some rubber! Wish I still had it or could find another. Wish I had kept my 1st Model A. Just a sentimental thing I guess.

This one's easy. My favorite was a jade green 1957 Olds 98 4dr HT previously owned by an Olds dealer with every option except the 3X2 carb setup. It was big powerful and comfortable and most of all fast. I could bury the speedo needle at 120 easily. It probably set me up for my later love of Cadillacs.

The car I got after the Olds was a long- desired sports car, a 1960 Truimph TR-3. What a piece of junk. What a dope I was. It broke literally every week. The freakin end-all was whne the engine blew splitting a piston a few seconds after morning start up at idle!

I'd like to be cruisin the Olds right cool.gif now as I watch the TR get crushed into a cube of Limey tin. mad.gif

Mine was a '66 Buick Riviera, tan with white bucket seat interior and center console. It was really beautiful, fast, reliable and classy. It was my dad's car new, and he gave it to me when I returned from Vietnam and went to college. I wore it out until, at 135,000 miles, the engine cracked a piston. Also, lots of other people had dented it up. I didn't have the space, time or money to repair it, so I gave it to someone who ultimately allowed it to be crushed. Now, money would be no object. I'd pay a lot to have that car back again.

Bob, I don't <span style="font-style: italic">think</span> the article you are talking about was a Model X. My car came via California in the 70's to a friend of mine who had me store it. I eventually bought it and did a complete restoration. The other one that was known was in Canada and now is in Kalamazoo.

I, like some here, really liked all the cars I've owned, but my favorite would have to be my 62 Buick Invicta convertible. Besides being a nice driving car, it is also classy & quick! To this day it always amazes me on how many people never heard of an Invicta.......

My first "Real Car" (one that I had to borrow money to get) was a 1969 Camaro SS/RS convertable. 350, 4-speed, Fathom Green with a very pale light green top, bucket seats (of cource) It was one sexy, fast car. Wish that one was still around, I had a BLAST with it. Next would be the 64 Sport Fury , black on black, 383, auto. That was FUN & Fast!!!!!!

What's an Invicta?

JUST KIDDING--pretty sure I know what those are (especially after viewing some of Centurion's cool tour pictures, and other BCA forum browsing).

Was "The Cruising Vessel" in "Fast Times at Ridgemount High" an Invicta?

I've liked most of the cars I've owned. I think each kind of did it's best at being what it was. For instance, my first-ever brand new car was a 1978 Mazda GLC--one of the old kind of "egg-shaped," rear-drive ones, and that was a darned good car. Actually steered and handled pretty well for what it was...

My favorite was my '54 Mercury convertible, 3 spd with overdrive. It was a good looking car that sounded great with duals and glasspacs. I sold it for a '64 Ford 390 with a 4 spd that was one year old. I regretted selling the Merc soon after. Sure wish I still had it.

I'm loathe to admit it here, and it's only been 1 month of ownership, but so far I'd have to admit that my 2005 Toyota Prius is definitely my favorite car that I've owned. It's hard to believe the immense technological strides that were made between 2001 (the first hybrid for sale) and 2004 (the current car). And to have such cutting edge technology be affordable and reliable is yet another achievement.

It might never be a Duesenberg or a Jaguar, but it's definitely a car that makes <span style="font-style: italic">every</span> competitor seem terribly obsolete. ...And that's a lot of competitors!

and I'm sure that Buick appreciated that fact and is possibly why they chose the name. After all to be copied is the greatest form of flattery. Besides the Buick Invicta held its own in the way of high performance . an interesting thread has just started over in the BCA forum. Invicta high speed run

1961 Oldsmobile as I always loved them and was finally able to find one.

As far as selling, I regret selling the six Bugattis and 35 Tuckers my father had. (Unfortunately, that was in my dreams). I probably would like to have the 56 Rambler that my parents had just because you hardly ever see them any more.

I thank my wife, Gloria, for allowing the purchase of our '65 Corvette fuelly coupe some 6 years ago. I bought a nice '68 375-396 new in '67 which I later sold(family and fuel expense). Ok, yall done got me in truble now-at the mention of my soft spot for the early Plymouth Valient, good friend and DFer Bob Swanson sent me a Valient sales brochure - and I really love it as I've not collected any Valient stuff before. Thanks Bob, appreciated muchly! I left the catalog on the kitchen counter and when Sue got home from work she confided that she'd always liked those cars - her family was still driving a later convertible version when we started dating. Well, now it seems that between Bob's catalog, and this forum, our love affair with the Plymouth Valient has been rekindled. Fortunately, they are smallish cars and we could probably squeeze one in around here someplace. We'll see what happens.

Hey Bob, do you know Phil Hamilton? He's a pretty active old car guy in our state, connected with Belltown and 4-Cs mostly, I think (and also a pretty big Packard fan). Anyway, my family donated a pretty decent Plymouth Valiant to him (a '65 I think) a couple of years back (had been my wife's grandfather's car down in FL, and was a spare car for the family for a while up here), and he's been doing a few things with it recently, including getting his hand controls fitted, and should be on the road with it soon, if not already. It seems like it might be a much better fit for him than the huge, hulking mid-50s Packard 4-door sedan he had previously. Anyway, possibly another Valiant fan in the making, it appears...

My favorite car that I sold was my 71 MGB IT was a blast to drive and I abused (er drove) it for 3 years until it was drinking a quart of oil every 200 miles and the tires were rags. I remember making more that one trip to and from Paso Robles to the bay area with the throttle on the floor most of the way. Hmmmm wonder how it got worn out?? confused.gif

car I wish I had NEVER sold 64 e-type coupe. I was broke and going to college and I bought it to help fund my education. I was driving it it town one Fri nite and a girl came up behind me and blinked her headlights and pointed to a nearby restaurant....easiest date I ever made
