You may not be aware that Australia's two most populous  States (and the Australian Capital Territory) are currently locked down due to Covid.  Rising case numbers do not indicate that this situation will end in the foreseeable future.  While this may mean a lot more time to work at home it does restrict expeditions to drag in candidates ripe for restoration (if they still exist).

We’ve been searching for a new home. The council is compulsory acquiring ours so we have  been spending every spare minute looking.
Spent Sunday driving to some spots that looked great on the internet but you wouldn’t leave your dog in some of them.
we are not supposed to travel more than 5km from home but we just didn’t get out of the car. Still not allowed to do that but we need to search for a house or land to build. ( A big shed and garage to fit more dodges in.).
Ive been making a few sets of wooden spoke wheels and refurbished some 24 dodge Ute ones.

Made a car trailer for a friend of mine. Poor bugger asked me to do it 12 months ago but a roadster got in the way. 440865B8-6C0E-41DA-91EF-4CCC7611A03F.jpeg.178e11e52b751e0de01260197ccd836c.jpegAA2923F1-A04E-44FE-9205-658B437157E8.jpeg.52195b3362dd09ae417dd9c5ba03cf4f.jpeg

And my 7 year old grandson and I made a train for them all. We have 8 grandkids. 5C0B67FC-04D1-43E3-B4F1-5E9616121104.jpeg.615b44d4cf4466550ee761aa6ea02784.jpeg1E1528F5-BB01-41D2-A8DC-94E929D0E372.jpeg.ee773c56761a9b68621a0bd6cd171c80.jpeg

Well, I have 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren but no train, we do however live in South Australia which is pretty much covid free and we are allowed out so we are hurrying off to a Dodge Brothers car week.

The roads are dirt, the scenery breathtaking and it looks like good weather coming.

Come to SA Matt and buy an acreage.

Nice wheels by the way. 👍

So jealous!! The Roadster looks like it’s doing 120mph. 😂
That looks like so much fun I’m just dying to take the roadster out for a day. I sat in it on Sunday and just started it for a bit of Therapy.
Don’t laugh Nigal the way property is here in Melbourne we might just do that.
You’ll need more than 2 carriages to cart your mob by the sounds of it. 😂🤣

8 grandchildren? SO you guys are busy in other places besides the shop? We have 5. At some point this year they will be 16,15,14,13 and 12. The one that will be 16 is the car nut, but I can't talk to him anymore. I started him off with car books having him count the blue cars and red cars. He has now progressed? to Lambos, Aston Martins, Bugatiis. All the stuff with the butterfly doors and 1000hp. The '17 roadster looks great at speed, Minibago. I sure wouldn't mind seeing your countryside but you have too many things that bite and sting. All I have hear is 17 wild turkeys that come for breakfast every morning and about 15 deer that trim the bushes. Matt, the wheels are a work of art. The only way I work on wood is with a chain saw.

So that’s all I’ve been up to.

What a bummer being forced to move and facing the relocation of home, hobbies, and business.  But you still keep knocking the projects out of the park.  Cute train and beautiful trailer.

Yup lockdown in Melbourne sucks!  But I got my dodge fired up and drove around the block on the weekend - had to do some “essential” shopping.

Work on Docs Dodge also stalled as no one can get there to work on it - only needs a few more things done and then off to the trimmer but we can’t even do that.  Probably be the end of Sep before we can get out to play again if not longer:(

Being locked down does Suck bigtime. We are about to have the biggest car show in the world, hope it happens safely. What the politicians don't explain when they are passing out rules to live by is how about inner city folks. We have hundreds of thousands of homeless living in large groups in all cities and they haven't been vaccinated. By the threats all of them should have the flu or have died. I read the other day that an idiot stabbed a bunch of people down under. So the powers have removed all knives from stores. When will the stupidity stop?

Every time a politician speaks about it I can't help but think of a recent quote I came across...

“No. No. I’m listening. It just takes me a minute to process that much stupid all at once.”

Great photos from our Aussie brothers as always, especially the blurry 24" spinners on the roadster doing 120 ;)

I'm sure some kids today are jealous too...

Looks like you are all making the best of it. Kudos!

So, not knowing I have to ask. Were trucks bodied in Australia or shipped complete? If so, were they TJRichards bodies? I don't know that I have seen any Aussie trucks except Utes. I still say the Aussie are up to something. They've been too quiet. Are you still locked down? Hope no one is getting sick. I just had another friend that was vaccinated test positive.

We are still caged up Doug. I’m hoping to start working on the 1918 soon so I’m going to need help with that one from my good friends on here.
I think even once we get vaccinated you can still catch Covid but you don’t get quite as sick as if you weren’t vaccinated.
Our premier here in Victoria is a control freak and loves keeping us under the thumb. We are getting about 400 cases a day here at the moment.

Wait a second. I was just in the shop 20 minutes ago and the '18 is still there. I'm sure it would take you long to reassemble, maybe a few Weeks but the boat ride might take a while. Here's a picture of it.

Nice old girl there Doug. Little bit to do on it.
I see you’ve worked out to post pics now so we should expect a few pics from Hershey hey!! Give us a glimpse of what we are missing out on. 👍

We have white tailed deer to trim all the bushes. The other night there were 20 behind my house on the hill. Two were fairly big buck sporting nice racks. At least they don't kick us in the face. Here is our vicious venison about 20 feet away from me sitting on my porch and she knew I was there.

Well this afternoon we thought bugger it we’re going for a little drive in the Roadster. So I pulled it out of the garage and put the top down. F1D08C1E-FA05-4E43-8571-44DD053A8473.jpeg.369a924f576a45d2600ac31f555488b2.jpeg
Our premier Dopey Dan has let us out to 10km’s from home  now, lucky us. 😩

Jude and I didn’t go far or for very long but shit it was good fun. I actually forgotten how much fun these old cars are.

It was a perfect spring day for a drive in the roadster. It ran just beautifully.
We were greeted by our beautiful boy Dukey when we got home. He loves the running boards because he can get right up close to us.

How can you beat that? A ride in a beautiful car with a beautiful woman beside you on a beautiful day with a handsome dog to welcome you home.  I'm envious, I am almost there except for the car part.

Didn't know where else to post this so I'll put it here. I made this little 2 cylinder struggle all last week. I was on a 1 and 2 cylinder tour in Strasburg, Pa. riding shotgun. Notice the steering wheel is on the wrong side. It did pretty good for only having 24 horses.

Sounded like a lot of fun, it would of struggled with all the ice cream you ate along the way. 😂🤣

we were hoping for some pictures along the way. 😢
