deaddds 152
I must be getting crusty now I’m over 50 but seems for 125 large a guy would actually wash the car and detail the engine bay before taking photos. Is there a new category for barn find mostly full restoration? 10 1

Also, what does "driven 1000 miles" mean?
m-mman 378
The factory heating system has been removed. . . . IDK, is a heater-defroster included with a 'classic auto air' set up? The power brake seems more like a 57-8 than a 1961 . . . ???

The 55er 656
A fishing expedition, for 125K that car should be lower mileage and absolute perfection in every detail. I'd think the seller should be asking about 1/3 of the price if it was actually for sale.

It appears to be a very nice car, maybe #2 condition, though it's not presented well when covered with dust and stationary in the garage. I was thinking that the asking price of $125,000 was too high, but such an Imperial convertible would bring much more than $40,000! What does everyone think? At least $80,000? deaddds 152
I’m not well versed in Mopar but if it was an Olds I know it wouldn’t have an alternator or that type of AC compresser. Again, at that price I’d expect it dead balls on stock.
deaddds 152
Also is the radiator hose Napa off the shelf?
Steve_Mack_CT 1,508
Engine room looks pretty crusty for a full restoration. IMHO it's not 80k let alone 125k but I would agree more than $40k.

TTR 397
As noted by others, missing (deleted/ removed) OE heater system, aftermarket A/C system, tons of non-original details, etc., but alternator is correct (introduced by Chrysler Corp, in ‘61), so is power brake booster (oval “canister” type introduced in ‘59 & used thru ‘61, the earlier “accordion” type was in use from ‘57 thru ‘59, but many earlier types were eventually replaced with later ones during rebuild/repair services). Seeing interior pictures like these always makes me wonder how many (white ?) naugas lost their hides to cover all that. Also, from the looks of it, I wouldn’t be surprised if purchase price (whatever it would be) turns to be just an entry fee to big league spending, even if a nice reliable “driver” quality is next owners objective, let alone if those desires/objectives include something aching the car being concours judging correct (=easily requiring another five figures for everything shown on photos, etc). This is something that if you want 125K for you had better detail it out and have incredibly good pictures (aka - not the barn find people would pay big money for).
JACK M 2,297
To me it looks like the firewall has been covered with a flat piece. I think 40 would still be way high.

GregLaR 2,551
Nice car but I think the Buy It Now price is laughable. Whatever was up with the firewall, those photos seem to have been removed. Hmmmmm?
Beerman 2
Hi Guys; , I can say this Imp has been messed with in a major way, being a long time Mopar man and owner of Imperials. The entire factory heater core, A/C unit has been removed. Notice the aftermarket A/C Compressor, would have been an RV2 originally. now has an underdash unit. Fine for Sunny climates, I guess, but no help when you need a defrost or heater! Better hope it sells to someone in Arizona!

ford40 2
Looks like firewall was rusted so bad that they had to replace it. Only reason to do that.
auburnseeker 4,796
I believe that firewall cover up was to fill in all the holes from the heating system that was removed. Someone wasn't thinking of course when they did it as it now stands out like a sore thumb. The rest looks to have been not a rusty a shell, so the firewall would never have rusted that bad that you would replace it like that as the jambs and everything else would have been rusted as bad. I'm pretty sure as much as some people think might think the estimates are low we keep throwing out there, 61 Imperials are not well loved cars. Seems even the overseas crowd stops at right around 1960 in their lust for Forward look Mopars. Atleast with what I experienced when selling NOS parts to overseas buyers.
