Walt G
With all the current stress going on in the USA and the world concerning health issues, I thought perhaps it would possibly be good to share some period photos of vehicles that we all love. The old cars and trucks make us happy. So for a few moments viewing what I have posted here may relieve you from some of the stress now upon all of us. I hope the images, even briefly, take away that cloud of worry and concern. We are not only thinking about ourselves, and family but dear friends across the world who are like family because of our common interest in older cars. If you can add to this with your images, please do. I sincerely wish all of you well , and hope in some way this makes all of you feel a little bit better. Walt on Long Island. 22

I think the general idea for having a cat around at that time was for vermin control, feeding a cat was counter productive! As a long time dog person, I still think that way... GREAT pictures Walt, I wish I had more to contribute but I posted them all last time you had a similar thread. auburnseeker
We actually fed our cat well, not overly fed just appropriately and she was always dragging something in right up to a gray squirrel. I heard if you don't feed them they aren't as good either. Never did any tests to prove that philosophy. Someone else's cat currently visits the property once a day though I rarely see it, just the tracks and fortunately doesn't have any competition so it doesn't mark it's way through. The fox that visits occassionally does though.
padgett
My cats do not go outside. They still bring me things. If still living, I take outside and release. The prey usually do not come back. 3
Mark Wetherbee
Sorry, I was trying to be humorous... We always had at least one cat in Maine living in our barn, they not only got fed, but fresh water every day and blankets in cold weather which is 65%+ of the time up there. I never had a mouse issue with my cars, not one and this was an old wood floor no insulation behemoth of a barn... Some were friendly enough to make good with the dogs and come inside, others were still unfriendly due to having been dumped out by some (rude expletive removed) person. Lost many to other critters and always mourned them. This little guy hadn’t opened his eyes yet when we found him. We were surprised he lived...

Walt G
As Tony the tiger used to say "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!" The Mercedes - Benz are in a shelter that early car collector D. Cameron Peck used to keep his collection in, they were his cars. Photo was taken in the very early 1950s. Keiser - yep truck is a Reo Speed wagon, note the gas tank mounted just below the windshield. And yes again, that is a Packard model 433 from 1928. One thing about the Reo truck photo I don't get - note the lettering on the window on the building - VIM. That was a truck built in Philadelphia , in fact I owned a VIM once. I have to many images here in my archives. I haven't had time to look through the issues of the French OMNIA and L'Illustration magazines yet. OMNIA was a monthly slick paper auto journal/magazine , started life in 1920 and ended in 1936 , loaded with information and photographs. I have nearly a full run except for about 6 issues. L'Illustration had an annual auto number that was devoted to all the cars at the Paris salon.

You will have beat me to that research before I finish giving a kid a bath.

Walt G
SO Ed, time to "fess up" in that Duesenberg J photo you posted , is that really you looking out the drivers window !? and did you just utter what you mention at the bottom in your description "drive it like you stole it". 🤣 Walt PS it could be that you just heard for the first time what the famous old band leader Ted Lewis used to say "is every body happy?"
