  6. I still have these gears. They will go cheap if anybody needs them.
  7. I just went through this with WA State Patrol Inspections to correct the year of mfg. for a 1931 Buick Model 67 that was registered as a 1930. Aside from the fact that some previous inspector couldn't see the difference between a straight 8 and a 6 cylinder car, Covid also caused multiple problems in getting an inspection appointment. And some state inspectors previously refused to accept the original riveted ID plates used by Buick in the early days and would only used stamped numbers on the engine for registration. It took two months to get an appointment, and because it was a non-op car, it had to be trailered to the inspection station. It turned out to be a big hassle, but I did get it done correctly with a new inspector. The nasty old inspector who refused to use riveted frame numbers must have finally retired.
  8. One of the first things to check is the hose on the suction side of the water pump. As the rubber gets old it becomes more flexible with heat and may be partially collapsing. This starves the pump and will create foam in severe cases. You cannot see it collapse while driving, or even when stopped with the engine running. Check to see if the hose has a spiral wire in it to keep it from collapsing, or just replace it with a new hose with the wire.

  10. I completely agree.... I quit selling on Evilbay...
  11. I just started my 31-67 this morning for the fist time in over ten years. This car was gifted to me by a friend who passed. He purchased it over ten years ago, got sick, and never got it to run. I had to remove the rocker assy. and work on two stuck valves, install a new electric fuel pump, and rebuild the carburetor with a new cork float. Unfortunately, the float valve is not the original and is not yet seating. So, I need an original to make it work properly. I also need a replacement throttle arm as the original was broken.
  12. No complaints from me, since Brian made a custom back seat windshield for us...
  13. Yes, Tom Dessert is just north of Vancouver WA.
  14. Photo and dimensions please...
  15. The can will be hard to re-seal when changing the internal filter because the ends of the can support the unit. I suggest that you keep the original air cleaner if you enter the car for judged shows, and use a commonly available filter for everyday driving. 17. As Larry advised, advance your timing and you will get more speed and less overheating...
  18. Resurface and align as Larry suggested. Also, replace the pilot rings. Olsen's Gaskets sells them.
  19. MP3 player with AM & FM runs on 6V. Connect it to compatible speakers and you are good to go. The whole thing fits in my 38 Buick glove box.
  20. IMO, WW tires are a pain in the a** to keep clean, cost more, and therefore should only be installed on the top-of-the-line cars. The lower end of the model year cars would typically have BW tires since the original owners probably couldn't afford the high end cars.

  22. I finally got my 1931 Buick Model 67 inspected by the WA State Patrol this morning. It was recently gifted to me by an old Buick buddy that passed away. It is a non-runner that was loaded into my trailer via winch. But today it was unloaded via starter motor in reverse gear. The driveway into my storage barn is up hill. A friend and I tried to push it out of the trailer but didn't have the push to get it done. So, I "drove it" out and into the barn using the starter motor while in reverse. It worked nice and slow as my friend directed me from the rear. Now I can start working on freeing-up the stuck valves to get it running. I already have a pony tank set up so I can drive it 10 blocks to my home shop where I can install the missing fuel pump and get it ready for touring.
