  1. For Gasoline(methanol blend) I add 4 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil, to a full tank. Others complain of vapor lock... Mine hasn't vapor locked with Marvel Mystery Oil. For new tail light gaskets ; try CARS old Buick parts FUSIK auto parts Rock Auto parts I got sockets and bulbs at NAPA ... my original were pressed in brass pieces. I was able to make do with some steel sockets that slipped into place. They're working well after ten years. For the reflectors, white paint seems to reflect better than silver paint....
  2. It Reminds me of Slick 50 from thirty years ago http://www.skepdic.com/slick50.html

  5. Interstate is good. '55 for one year used a group60. I went through two 'Delco' reproduced group60 batteries. They were both junk. In the meantime I got a group 27F It's within 1/2" of being the same size as a Group60. Eventually I'll get to the right battery. Then I'll put the 27F in my Ford truck (F for Ford reverse terminals)
  6. Here's a '53 engine and trans for sale http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?282378-1953-Super-322ci-and-DynaFlow-Trans-for-sale
  7. Nice Buick !! Big Buicks are best
  8. Dynaflow gets a bad rap undeservedly. Shifting from low to drive , I do it when I have to start from a stop on a steep grade. And when driving at low speed , sometimes I leave it in low to keep the cooling fan speed up
  9. Reading post #1 of this thread, I thought; "yep. You overpaid" But, after seeing the photos, I'm thinking; Maybe not overpaid.... Show us more photos... Nice Car !!!
  10. Mix 4 ounces of Marvel Mystery oil in every tankful of fuel. Mine has not vapor locked in 42 years, Dad and then I have been using Marvel Mystery oil since then.
  11. The attachment points of the shifting rods might need a bit of lube WD 40 is good for cleaning. Not for lube. It will evaporate and leave the parts drier than before. Using the WD40 is a good idea. Just don't expect it to provide lube Get some spray on white lithium grease (NAPA has it)
  12. All I know about them is, The office building is still standing on Vanderbilt road. And that President Warren Harding rode in one during his visit to Birmingham.
  13. Delo and Rotella are Diesel engine oil, whether labeled "Diesel" or not. Oils made for Diesel are refined for the Diesel engines that lack positive crankcase ventilation and high compression with increased blow by in the crankcase as compared to gasoline engines. In addition, Rotella and Delo have the ZDDP (zinc) that our old ohv engines need. IMHO All of these features make Rotella and Delo a good choice for our old cars.
