  2. The end of the cylinder head nearest the firewall on the left (driver's side) head
  3. The sensor is in the back side of the left cylinder head
  4. I'll pray for God to give you patience. I know mine wore thin when Dad put ours back on. I remember a lot of trial and error …, and shims
  5. Hooray !!!! Congratulations !!! In 1969 Dad took his 1940 Cadillac off the frame. He sold the car in 1983 , still off the frame…
  6. I had a reproduction "Delco" group 60. It wouldn't crank the car with out a boost when it was new. I threw it in the junk pile and got a NAPA group 27. It is within 1/2" in width, height Nd length, so it fits in the battery tray and top bracket. The group 27 fired up the nailhead yesterday without effort after sitting for two weeks. A group 31 is a better fit and provide even more amps than the 27
  7. Hmmm.… In that case, I'm glad I've got bias plies…
  8. If you put a proper sized grommet in the draft tube hole, you then put the PVC valve there. The air could enter through the mesh in the oil filler cap. That could keep the air flowing in the original direction. And close off the offending hole
  9. What I'm trying to say is, Despite the carb settings If there is a restriction in the fuel delivery, A lean condition is the result…
  10. It should stay open. Unless you put in a pvc system. The draft tube that is supposed to be there has a goose neck and extends straight down to the bottom of the car, with a bologna cut on the end that draws out the vapors as the car goes down the road (venturi effect) Don't close it off, it's needs to stay open so the vapors in the crankcase can get out. Unless you put in pvc system, then the vapors are sucked into the intake and burned and sent out the tailpipe.
  11. Does it flash OK with the LED lights? I've read that some flashers don't get enough resistance from LED lights to make them flash..
  12. Mine is old and cracked. And the linkage squeaks , Maybe I'll get a new one
  13. Mine had the pancake type between the carb and fuel line originally. I changed it to the tin can type nearer ti the fuel pump. Clogged fuel can cause a lean mixture. The lean mixture can also cause overheating. Keep an eye on your gauges
  14. Thanks for that !! Great improvement for safety. I worry about my brake lights. Especially , with all the distractions these days
