  1. Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone knew how the front seat is supposed to be attached to the floor ther rear is bolted down but in the front there is no bracket or hook to hold the seat down. I'm very confused can someone take a picture for me thanks.
  2. Hi guys I am wondering if anyone knows a Wagner, raybestos or centric part number for the rear shoes on my 55 special. If not does anyone know the size/dimensions. I took the rear brakes apart today and found no shoes in th rear. The springs and adjuster were in a shoe box in the trunk.
  3. Hey guys I am having a problem with the temperature gauge in my 55 special it has the 264 nailhead. The gauge is not moving off the cold mark. Is this a mechanical gauge or is it an electric sending unit? Where is the port in the block that holds the temp sensor??
  4. Hey guys I am looking for the rubber brake hoses on my 55 Buick special I haven't had a chance to check under the car yet. I was wondering is it 2 rubber hoses that go to the front wheels and then 1 that goes to a block on the rear or are they all individual? So I guess my question is are there 3 or 4 rubber lines on a 1955 Buick special?
  5. Looking for the front bumper bullets for a 1955 Buick Special. Anyone have them or can you please refer me to someone that may?? Thanks much Randy.
  6. Hi there, I was fortunate enough to fulfill my many year dream of purchasing a 55 buick roadmaster. I do have some minor concerns with the car I am hoping people can help me out on. the brakes seem very poor on this car, I have to really push the pedal down to get them to work? I would not think this is how they are originally intended to be. Does anyone have knowledge of how the brakes are supposed to be on this car? it seems like the brake booster is not doing a whole lot. Also, the automatic gas pedal starter works off an on. Does anyone know exactly how this system works? What happens about 40% of the time as soon as I turn the key to on the car will start without even pressing the gas pedal. I am sure there is some adjustment that will help. Many thanks, I am ready to get this baby in great shape!
  7. I went to start up my 55 Special and it starting making this metal on metal noise. It will still go into gear and drive (obvisouly just went back in the garage), but continues to sound horrific. All fluids are up, and starts fine. My dad thought it may be the torque converter- any thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help
