Brooklyn Beer
If he invested in a good paint detailing this car would present so much better. I don't think this car has been buffed or waxed in a few decades. Throwing a professional detailer a few hundred you would get back a different car 3
Dave Wells
Much better deal buying it off the FB ad, only $10,400. in Westminister, MD. CL ad says $11,500. in Hanover, PA.

Does the seller know what they have and has it ever been serviced while in their possession? There was a time when I was young that I thought these cars where real slugs. Now I can't hardly quit looking at them. If I didn't have my DeSoto I would be after this car.
Bryan G
Quite a survival rate on Chrysler Corp. products of that era. There seem to be plenty to choose from right now.
JACK M
The dash plastic looks to have survived well. But its green.

Probably a nice period correct shade of green that will come out when the car gets a decent detailing.
neil morse
Looks like a nice car for the price. I wonder what kind of shape the seat fabric is in under those covers? These are great driving cars, very dependable, AND it's a New Yorker so you get the prestige of 8 cylinders. Also, those deep dish beauty rings are difficult to find. Many of these cars ended up with one piece '49 wheel covers which look okay but not as nice.
tom_in_nh
Question: Are Phillips screws the correct fasteners for the data plate?

Not that anyone asked or wants/cares to know............... According to the paint chip chart the color, Code #6, is Meadow Green 4

Jeff Perkins / Mn
If I was seriously interested in this car I would want an inspection underneath……I have personally looked at several of these cars which appeared excellent and found body mounts in poor condition.

The 55er
Nice to see an 8 cylinder New Yorker for sale instead of the more common Windsor sixes but IMO that green paint has really dulled out and might be too far gone to bring back. The ad says it runs & drives great but it would really pop with some shiny new paint and a fresh engine detailing.

DrumBob
Wow, I'd say the seller was "highly motivated." He drops the price every 2-3 days. Let's see how low it goes before it sells. Who wants to guess? Maybe we should do a poll. I'll say $7200.
