  2. With all due respect to those who have to worry about the gas mileage their collector car gets, maybe a different hobby would be a consideration. Catalina Sports Sedan 389 Trophy V-8 2-BBL (man. 3) Performance Review fuel consumption and mileage: average estimated by a-c©: 20.5 l/100km 13.8 mpg (imp.) 11.5 mpg (U.S.) source: https://www.automobile-catalog.com/make/pontiac/full-size_pontiac_7gen/full_7_catalina_sports_sedan/1962.html#gsc.tab=0
  3. BaT pictures don't show a divider window which I thought a true limo had. Most everyone in the know calls these "seven passenger sedans". Not an attractive body style and the trunk doesn't help. Try parking at Walmart.
  4. Ever sit on a black vinyl convertible car seat when you left the top down on a hot July afternoon? Unforgettable to say the least!
  5. The answer is, "Every VW type 1 (beetle) is known for it's rounded shape and compact size."
  6. That's right. I don't think AI saw it either. Doors appear to be front opening with the handle/latch under the "B" pillar. Strange to have a "B" pillar on what seems to be a roadster.
  7. Read the AutoEvolution link. It says the supercharger is a pre '64 unit. Seller made no claims of authenticity.
  8. It's interesting that AI couldn't figure out that the spare tire is blocking the door from opening.
  9. I was not aware that there was a way to manually shift this transmission. Is this a standard feature or something the owner rigged up?
  10. I don't recall the discussion, however the trim under the side windows on this Ford is not stock. '55 and '56 Mercury Montclairs used this trim but only under the windows The Ford trim and paint extend to the tail lights and is a custom addition.
  11. This car had side curtains like a 2- door roadster. The convertible sedan had roll- up windows.
  12. When I was a kid, the local undertaker had his hearse and limo painted the same brown two-tone colors as this Dodge. The people who bought the old limo always caused a stir when they visited friends around town.
  13. Here are two '51 convertibles that I consider having more attractive colors. It's interesting to note the different rear bumpers and backup light arrangement on each car. The 1951 Buick brochures for both the US and Canada picture the backup lights integrated into the bumper guards, even the station wagon, same as the 1950 models. The subject dark red convertible appears to have different rear bumper and it's backup lights attached to the body panel below the trunk. The rear emblem is located higher on the trunk lid than the others, with the lock below. Also, the subject car has what look like '60's Buick wheel center caps attached to the rear quarter panels...strange. I still feel that CA$39,500. (US$28,726.) is optimistic, at least in the US. ...from the 1951 Buick sales brochure
  14. Early '50's Buicks can be attractive, reasonably affordable cars. Unfortunately, this one is neither.
  15. The petroleum marketeers went out to McDonald's for lunch, were surprised by the $25. "Meal Deals" and said, "we can do this"...and did. McDonald's Customers Shocked by Price of $25 Meal Deal A new viral video highlighted the price of a meal bundle in one part of the U.S., sparking debate. https://www.eatthis.com/mcdonalds-customers-shocked-by-price-of-meal-deal/
