  1. Hi Walt, Great piece you have there. How about a snapshot of the backside to satisfy the curious? Thanks, Tom
  2. Neat rig you have. I really like the bourbon coolant overflow bottle. And the socket used for the alternator bracket is a neat conversation starter. Best of luck with your stewardship and enjoy your daughters while they are young!
  3. I have asked this question appropriately 4 years ago: How does a Tucker center headlight turn? Combination of cables, levers, and gears? Attached to steering box or ??? Anyone have a drawing? Might be a cool idea for "shop wall art". Educate me, please.
  4. If that distributor photo from above is the current state of your reproduction distributor - it needs attention. In the photo it clearly shows the point set located on the right side to have an issue. This could explain the loss of power - your Cadillac running on 4 cylinders instead of all 8. If this is an older photo before repairs, of another distributor, etc. - disregard the above comments. Just trying to help. Tom
  5. m-mman : Did you ever solve your rough running issue? Does your distributor still look like the photo above? If so, I would be happy to look it over for you, as I am very curious as to why it looks the way it does. Regards, Tom
  6. There is an 1899 and a 1901 Winton in the Larz Anderson Auto Museum collection, in Brookline, Ma. Hope this helps. Tom
  7. Just curious if anyone here has acquired this Buick yet?
  8. Hemmings Motor News has a section on real estate for just the clientele you're looking for.
  9. The contact point on the right looks like a mess. I suspect it is not a genuine Delco...the rubbing block is different than the one on the left side. I would investigate further. This might be a partial clue as to your rough running issue. Good luck.
  10. Fascinating. Would you mind telling us what you use for a microscope? And camera? Keep up the great tutorial. Tom
  11. All you have to do is ask. If you're near southern NH, and need help with your rig... I may be able to help with mechanical repairs. Regards, Tom
  12. You have mentioned the starter solenoid was replaced. Did your friend replace the starter also? If not, I suspect the starter itself. Good luck. Tom
  13. Not all stainless steels are non rusting. Request 316 stainless steel (medical grade) if it is feasible. Best of luck to you Matt. Tom
  14. Hi Lee, Private message sent. Thanks, Tom
  15. Where are you located? If you are within driving distance of southern NH, bring over your NOS distributor. I am curious as to why it is inoperable. I can check it over on my distributor machine. No charge. Tom
  16. I recall reading about a compressed air vehicle in the Society of Automotive Historians published journal. If there is interest, I will dig up the issue - not sure if I am even allowed to photocopy the article for this forum's viewing.
  17. This was inside of a junior Packard oil pan. Never underestimate the will of mice!
  18. You may have several bent pushrods, perhaps due to lifter failure.
