John_S_in_Penna
That's a very seldom-seen car, and one that would stand out at car shows. I have seen only one other--a car that was for sale locally several years ago:
suchan
That is a sharp little car! Paint the fenders to match the body and cover up that odd pin striping at the wheel openings.
John_S_in_Penna
Just for the record: The asking price in the ad is still $13,500. This is definitely a distinctive car. Edited April 25, 2021 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)

John_S_in_Penna
I agree that it's not the best looking, but I like it because it's so seldom seen. I think the shape of the coupe you found is better than the shape of the sedan I pictured. I could live with its looks...
Jolly_John
It's hard to find this era LaFayette with the hood ornament completely intact. This '36 has a good one. I searched long and hard to find one for my '37 LaFayette back in the 1970's. John
58L-Y8
The buyer of this '36 Lafayette better have a copy of that fragile hood ornament cast in brass or bronze before the original gets broken.
Hudsy Wudsy
There's always been something about the front end on these that bugs me. Maybe the grille projects too far forward, beyond the headlights, or the fenders sweep backwards too much. It reminds me of some WWII military vehicle that I've seen in movies. auburnseeker
I think part of the styling problem is the short windshield with the tall header, so it looks like a big forehead. That alone if it was proportioned better would help. Funny where an inch here or there can make all the difference.
Hudsy Wudsy
Wow, I don't think that I have ever seen this version of a "flat-back". Those are striking body molding lines on the rear! All of the ones that I recall seeing have had the somewhat cheesy looking after thought trunk lid.

Nash kind of went nuts with stamped-in 'speed-lines' on their 1934-1936 models. They contracted with the free-lance auto designer Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky for design input into their future models. The liberal use of 'speed-lines' was a hallmark of his design themes af the times. Overall proportions and details were dominated by the Engineering Department which shows in the rather amateurish, graceless looks that resulted. 1

Hudsy Wudsy
The thing that I've always disliked about these was the way the "prow" stands so tall above the too small headlights and front fenders. On the other hand, that's a great art deco design on the hood side moldings. I like the rear design, but I wouldn't own one of these because of the front end. Gerczak
So I wanted to look this car up on craigslist and typed in "1936 Nash" into the search bar. The car came up but so did the "Weeniesaurus." I don't know how the artifical intelligence works on these search engines but they really do not appear to be related. But hey, they were at least trying to appeal to the patriots out there with the hot dog that has an American flag.
