B Jake Moran
Cool but not thrilled about the colors
Hans1965
Cool, thrilled about the colors, the chrome, the overall looks. Seems to be a great buy for the money. If I wouldn't buy an apartment now... Who needs an apartment when you can sleep on the rear bench of this car, right? 🤔
The 55er
This Hudson could be a great car but I don't like any of those colors. The yellow is too bright and I don't like the brown on the lower section. The roof looks black to me, a three-toned Hudson. Ouch! The seller's external pictures show the car from a lower angle and I think he knows something's not right. The colors catch my eye alright......in a bad way. On the plus side it does have nice chrome & interior. IMO a lighter cream color with a black top would look better.
B Jake Moran
Well it's a big hobby and colors appeal to different folks. No doubt though the stepdown Hudso ns are cool iconic cars that are fun to own. paulrhd29nz
I personally love two tone Hudson’s of this era. I’ll bet if you saw this car across the parking lot you would WOW nice car !

Sounds like you hate the car so much you have to make up defects that aren't there! 😄 Pretty sure the roof is brown.
Xander Wildeisen
Wasn't 1949-50 the last year Hudson did two tones below the belt line?
The 55er
I wouldn't exactly say I hate the car but I prefer cars of that era to have a more original appearance instead of looking "jazzed-up" and overdone. I'd like to see some better overall external pictures that show the complete car from top to bottom.

Xander, Google Images shows '51s in both the earlier and the later style two-toning.
suchan
The 1951 Hudson foldout doesn't show any two-tone cars, but with the trim piece as a divider, it's way too tempting. Everything else looks pretty good to me! I think doing something different with the wheels would help, but my eyes are always drawn to wheels. Yellow with dog dishes, especially below the brown panels, just looks weak. Bigger caps, trim rings, paint 'em brown, something.
intimeold
I like it. Just the way it is!
Ed Luddy
A lot of keyboard nitpickers chiming in on a nice quality car. No, it's not mine, but I wish it was! If you're not buying, quit bitchin'! Next!!

B Jake Moran
Ed We are openly discussing a 3rd party car. I like the step downs. I owned a 1949 Commodore 8 4 door. It's just my opinion they are best left a single conservative tone. Most 2 door hardtops look good in 2 tone but most fast backs do not. Essentially this Hudson has no hard C pillar break and so the coves are the only two color option. It's an adaptation since I dont think Hudson saw two toning as the way to promote. Yes it seems it was available but not emphasized.
Xander Wildeisen
I remember reading in a WTN magazine years ago that the factory stopped two tones below the belt line in 49 I think? Would not want to bet much on this memory. Any factory photos of 51-53 cars with a two tone on them? Auburnseeker might have a factory broucher. Not picking apart the car, just curious. I don't mean to say that I hated it, just in most cases I found it needless.

I would love to own it if were in it's original colors. I apologize if I question your taste, but I wouldn't own it with that silly paint job. I'd be just too embarrassed.

Hudsy Wudsy
I've said it countless times before, but why aren't the distinctive lines of vintage cars enough? Why do they also have to be done up in circus colors? What does that say about some people's egos? Xander Wildeisen
That is the Hudson out of Porky's. A little bit different from driving Miss Daisy.😆
