Seller's ad is comprehensive and it sounds like he knows a bit. One of the better deals lately. A very good car, at first blush, for a good price vs. A decent car for a good price. auburnseeker
Does seem like a good buy. I always wonder why people take a picture of such a nice looking car with a wheel chock. Doesn't the E-brake work? You also couldn't buy one of the tired 7500 ones and make it anywhere near as nice for the difference.
58L-Y8
A 1940 Lincoln-Zephyr sedan, $11,000 "1940 Lincoln Zephyr Sedan, owned since 1999. The engine runs and the car drives but it has been sitting for a while without much use so everything needs to be gone through such as brakes, carb, tuning, etc. Interior is original but the front seat is pretty worn out. The back seat and headliner are pretty good. Rust on the car is the driver’s side floorboard which is a little thin, and the pan beneath the radiator which is rusted on the passenger side. Needs a new muffler and a portion of the exhaust pipe going into the muffler. This Lincoln is not a 100 point show car, but it is a presentable driver. Clear Ohio title. Please see pictures and ask questions. Serious inquiries only, price is firm. Scammers, low ballers, or those trying to defraud me will not be answered." https://limaohio.craigslist.org/cto/d/upper-sandusky-1940-lincoln-zephyr-sedan/7122300977.html I have no ownership of or personal interest in the eventual sale of this '40 Lincoln-Zephyr sedan

58L-Y8
The H-Series V-12 was a short-stroke, high rpm design to develop torque in a long-stroke, low rpm torque era. The 2 7/8" bore was the size of the standard tin-can!. The same buyer spending $1,500 for a Lincoln-Zephyr sedan with a 3 3/4 stroke could also choose from a Buick Roadmaster Eight 320 cu in with a 3 7/16 bore X 4 5/16 stroke or a Chrysler New Yorker 323 cu in with a 3 1/4 bore X 4 7/8 stroke or for somewhat more, a Packard Super Eight One-Sixty 356 cu in with a 3 1/2 bore X 4 5/8 stroke. All of the latter could be driven almost as if the car had an automatic transmission, the torque was great enough to obviate most gear shifting. What people forget is many people had problems with smooth clutch and gear change manipulation, welcomed anything that reduced the need to do so, especially in urban traffic.
auburnseeker
Not sure if this presents as any real deal, but it looks really clean and it's the 3 window coupe. I imagine it's been repainted but the dash under the hood and in the trunk, look really good. https://newjersey.craigslist.org/for/d/fair-lawn-1949-plymouth-business-coupe/7114356555.html 1949 Plymouth business coupe - $8000 Selling a ready to drive 1949 Plymouth business coupe. auburnseeker
Most if not pretty much all the old cars I buy get a full brake job when I get them so you do the Emergency and guarantee it functions properly while you are in there. Then use it all the time after wards. Besides, that's your life line if the single pot fails for any reason on 50's and older cars. Should be working as good as any other important safety equipment.
auburnseeker
This one is a little more pricy than some of the others I have posted and not sure how much of a bargain it is, but seems like a nice car for the money. Would be nice if they had added an interior shot but it does look nice from the outside photos looking in. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/603936576882255/ For Sale 1933 plymouth runs good in very good condition $10,500. My kids grew up in the back seat of a 1932 Plymouth - very similar to that car. Those doors wouldn’t scare me at all. If this wasn’t so far away I’d be pointing a younger guy toward it. *this* would be a good car to get started in the hobby with, IMO! Front suicide doors make that car easy for ingress / egress. I love that ‘32. It’ll never be sold as long as I’m alive. But perhaps it’s time to get the newly licensed into the front seat of it now.
auburnseeker
Could be a bargain, if it isn't all patched together. I’m in college and don’t really have time to maintain the car. I know it has the factory V8 engine and auto transmission. Clean title in my name. I just want it to go to a good home.
