Owned and rode Whizzers back in the early 60s as did my best friend. Between the two of us we probably had 6 or more and not one had a title. This was in Ohio and at that time did not require plates or a license to ride them.

Saw one of these partially setup at a local history museum in Wauseon Ohio this past July. Not sure if it was the same brand as this one but the one in the museum was on display because it was a somewhat local company that had made it.

Was a great time when my old cars were built, I would have been -1, 1, 2, 3 years old.

Yep, add me to the list that is letting their subscription run out, I think in the Spring. I usually renew at Hershey and didn't even stop at the booth. Been a subscriber since issue one of SIA.

A local radio swap show has been turned into a Netflix reality show called "Swap Shop Dash for Cash". We have watched it a couple of times, somewhat entertaining since they are going to local places and have had a few people on that I have met at car events.

Last Sunday, no old car, was out earlier with my 50 Ford F1 but couldn't find a safe place to park and take a picture. Went for ride in modern with the wife along to take a few quick shots. Our place is about 300' up the slope on the left side of the screen back in the trees.

Any references to why it is not a good combination. I use to run it in my Ford 8N with no problems, I think it has around 6:1 compression ratio, till we moved to an area that I could get regular corn free gas. I still run it in assorted small engines and have for many years and never have had any problems. The airport I use to buy my AvGas from used it in all the tractors they used and said it had a shelf life of over 10 years.

I am redoing the mechanicals on a 47 Crosley Pickup. I want to leave most of the body condition alone, not because it has original paint. It was repainted probably in the early 60s and has a deceased very good friend's farm logo is on the doors. I was chosen by his daughter to own this truck and I don't want to change it visually significantly from the way her father showed the truck. The one thing that bugs me is it has black wheels instead of red. If I painted the wheels it would have a similar effect to the Buick when shown, so don't want to do that. Been looking into how they can be painted red but look like it was done 70+ years ago. My other approach is to find some original wheels that have never been repainted or leave them black. I need to look through my wheel collection, I think I may have one or two with original paint.

No real foliage, but showing the season. Not my truck but made an interesting addition to a huge Halloween display in town.

My first Hershey as an adult was 1971. Went a few times with my parents in the 60s. In 71 the friends we went with didn't like getting up early and we didn't get there till late Saturday morning. There was a stead stream of vendors leaving when we went in the gate. In 1972 we got a space and have had spaces ever since. Until HERCO started making it hard, then impossible to stay over till Sunday morning we always did. We stayed open until at least around noon on Saturday until the last few years and I don't think we have sold $100 worth of stuff in all the years we were open on Saturday put together. We mostly enjoyed staying open on Saturday to see the well dressed car show people walking through the mud till they paved everything. Our problem has always been that when we have our flea stuff packed in the camper we don't have a place to sleep. We use to be 6 hours away now 8+ hours so if we stay to late on Saturday we have to either get a motel on the way home or find a camp grounds to unload and tarp then reload in the morning. Both cost much more than any sales we would make on Saturday.

Probably one of the stronger place to hit the top of your trailer with the extra framing for the door. Hopefully it didn't bend it enough to jam the door.

I think it may help get rid of some golf cart/scooter traffic if some kind of transport was reinstituted between fields or opposite ends of fields. I still can walk fine but just not as far as I could 50 years ago. I made trips to all the fields but the more distance ones I only covered small amounts before I needed to head back to my spot in the lower chocolate because I needed to save enough energy for the trip back. If I could walk to a main isle and grab a ride too a distant spot I could walk for a couple of hours and then grab a ride back, drop off close to where I need to get back too. I'm sure those walking in from a distant parking spot have the same problem. One of my flea market neighbors has come with his daughter for many years. She told me he said he may have to break down and get a scouter in another year or so because he can't see much of the market anymore, he is 93. She dropped him off at a couple of spots in the chocolate with her car, and let him walk back.

If your still nervous, assuming your cell phone charger is really a USB charger, most are these days, they sell USB testers for under $10 that you can plug in and it will show the voltage and if it is around 5v plug your cell phone in and it will tell you how much current your cellphone is pulling.

As long as you converted to 12v negative ground your cell phone charger should work just like in your modern car. Cell phone chargers don't pull anywhere near as much as a cigarette lighter does.

I need most of the hood latch assembly for the 47 I just bought. It has the actually latch but most everything else in the assembly is missing.

I thought TN had a lot of specialty plates but I can see they are way behind with a bit over 100.

We have used Walters (800) 690-5756 through a couple of owners for many years. Most years they appear to be brand new. $159 with a lock, dropped off on Monday picked up sometime after we leave on Saturday. Yes they can be slid around. I know some are cheaper but we always liked Walters. Mine was ordered the same day we got our packet. Was kinda funny because I got a new person on the phone and she didn’t have a clue what Hershey was or what I was talking about. She said hold on a minute and a different person took over the call and asked my name brought up all my info up on her screen and verified that we were on the same spot and the credit card had not changed etc in a few seconds.

Handicap carts don’t bother me that much, low wagons that are below my field of a vision cause me more problems when I try to walk behind someone and almost trip over them. Short flags that are at eye level or something else sticking up would be nice. Looking forward to having such problems again. 🙂

Got to NE TN today. I always told none old car people that it was like the largest portable junkyard you can imagine. It takes a day to arrive and a day to leave.

Found this jewel this Summer. First one I ever saw for sale and the guy had 5 or 6 of them. Of course I have only seen a couple of Vitameters so there probably isn't much call for it anymore.

The sleigh bells sound (pun) like a good idea. Very similar in sound to my favorite of what some use now, dragging an old wrench. Different size wrench gives a different tone so maybe 2 or 3 different size would make a good tune.

If you're transporting very far I think it would be good to get rid of as many as possible since you don't know what you are transporting to a new home. Might be invasive.
