Even though it might not be popular, you need to give credit to whoever painted the car for his ability to highlight with paint those areas which would be normally highlighted by the sun or special lighting.  I don't like the wheel well accents, perhaps it's meant to look like snow coming off the tires, but I think painted windshield reflection is well done as well.

That is a wonderful example worth close to asking price assuming no surprises on an inspection. Thanks for Posting Chris!

I also started a new thread for this, figured it deserved it!  :>)

The vinyl top has been replaced using the wrong grain vinyl.  I can't recall ever having seen a basket weave vinyl before, especially not on a car of this era.

He may have paid homage to Barris's fadeaway Villa Riviera paint scheme  - post solid?

That's a super deal with much promise if the rust free is true.

Body work costs more than a quality engine rebuild!

Its January in upstate NY, show up with a trailer and $400 with an extra $100 under your hat and it could be yours! Quite uncommon in 67 saddle interior. Excellent parts car. Look how nice the roof rail weatherstripping is.

~2 hours from me.  Buckets & console would sure look nice in Goldie...  Ugh -- my wife would kill me!  :o

Show up in Adams Center in January and you might never get home. I spent a week there one night.

I knew a ex-Army Commander who said they scheduled Arctic training at Fort Drum because weather conditions were more reliably Arctic than in the north.

27k mile original 66 Riv for $22,500

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5950689278.html

That's nice but I believe a bit over-priced?  Maybe not, but how about a $17,000 car?   Wish he would detail the engine, etc a bit more.  That's a crazy looking vinyl top material which I assume is original.  Is the camera catching it just right?

I would believe this is the way most of us would prefer a 66 Riviera, GS or not, - buckets, console, nice original road wheels, and this probably could not restored for $22,500.  A few posts before this was a Kentucky 2nd gen 66 with similar set up, for $3,000 but with extensive rust and issues.  One would be better off with this silver low mileage 66 if the seller would just come down a bit.

It's interesting that in many cases we have no idea what the seller purchased the car for and for me, when I see a high asking price, I have to wonder about how much the seller has in it and how much they are trying to turn in profit.

For this seller, there is no doubt he probably paid about 75% of retail back in 1967 - and I have no idea what that would have been for a 66 low mileage Riviera, but let's just say $3800????   That means he has enjoyed it all these years and it has been a great investment.  You can not drive a CD or bank account, you can't wash it and enjoy a saving's accounts body or interior!
