It's rare to see a pre war caddy sedanet come up for sale. This one looks pretty nice. However the steering wheel is cracked and the wood graining on the dash has seen better days.  Those two things stand out because the rest of the interior is very clean. The price is very fair too!

It is nice, and reasonably priced and not likely to sell for that price.   The 1941 62 series 4 door sold for I believe $12,000 to $13,000 with a better interior but not as nice or (technically) as desirable of a body style.  $18,000 likely sells this car, and that would be a great buy.

It's lovely in that Green with that interior.  Even the engine bay looks quite nice.

Was there an upgraded interior option on these cars? My 41 fastback has all the original interior in it. And has individual trim pieces on the bottom of the door panel. And one piece of trim on the garnish rail. The door panel on the car above looks like it is dressed up with interior pieces from a series 62 coupe. Is this correct? Or was there a design change mid year?

If thing only fetches 18 grand that would be a bargain! That's somewhere around 25 percent off of the selling price; that's quite a few Benjamins there....

Yes, in 1941 there was a standard interior and a deluxe.   The easiest way to tell a standard interior is if the window roll up handles have the round plastic piece on them.   If they do, it’s a standard interior.   If they are all chrome, then it’s a deluxe interior.   The picture you posted has the round plastic piece, so it’s a standard.  The solid stainless panel on the bottom of the door is a deluxe feature, while the individual strips was the standard.

I have a complete front seat from a 41 coupe. (No picture) and it is upholstered with even more detail than both of these seats. So guessing the series 62 coupes had a standard and deluxe interior as well?

correct.   All 61 & 62 series ‘41 Cadillacs had a standard or deluxe option, except the convertibles which were all Deluxe.  The subject car of this thread had the interior redone in a non original fabric.  You can also tell a deluxe by the data tag on the firewall.    A 61 series coupe standard would be a 6127 while a 61 series coupe deluxe would be a 6127D.   The D is for the deluxe interior.

The skirts for it are right where they should be - OFF the car.

I respectfully disagree.   Without the skirts they look like a big Chevy.   With the skirts they look like an elegant, elite motorcar.

I guess I'm tired of seeing EVERYTHING our friends from south of the border get their hands on, ending up with skirts,...........and visors,.............and sirens,........and all kinds of other doodads and schlock. But, we'll have to agree to disagree on this car.

You look at some of the everyday cars that people are selling for 15 to 20 thousand dollars and this Cadillac looks like a bargain. I've not been a big fan of the slope back GM cars from this period but this car rings all the bells and then some. Just the right amount of "lived" in to make a person comfortable driving it.

PS.

It can wear skirts but looks great without them.

A 41 Cad Sedanette is a beautiful car. The only thing that kind of looks out of place on them. Is the rubber stone guards on the rear fenders. I go back and forth on selling mine. Would like to fix up the car. But a Hornet is calling my name. Might send a couple of Hudson’s down the road😢 and keep the Cad🤔

There is a lot of culture and identity in that car scene. That includes all types of cars. And people will try and take it from you if they can. I know your comments come from a love of restored cars.

I also like the skirts on this car, I am not normally attracted to the Sedanette, would prefer the coupe in this year. The skirts with the emblem looks real nice IMO and the two tone paint also helps this car.

That is what is fun about the Not mine section. We can live vicariously through others and guesstimate ending sales.

All due respect to any other opinions,

but I agree with K8096.

Skirts conform with the understated elegance of a '41 Caddy-

especially a Sedanet,

or a convertible like mine.

I don’t like skirts myself. That said, they came on this 41 Caddy convertible I’m using for the next few months. Too modern of a car for my taste………..the locals like it. Took it to dinner tonight.

Here’s a photo of the skirts.  Sorry to post a photo with the top down on a beautiful sunny day.  I know our friends on the West Coast are getting flooded or covered in snow.

Agreed, and I smile when I see mine,

and by the way, red wheels are correct for a 1941

The convertibles are just as flashy with the top up. The piping around the edge of the top is the same color leather as the upholstery and there are half-round chrome strips across the outside of the bows. Also chrome door window frames.

The deluxe package was available on 61 and 62 series cars. Deluxe package included interior and upholstery appointment upgrades, ivory steering wheel,  and the big hubcaps, skirts and special wheel color that complements body color. Any of the items in the package could be ordered as individual options, as well as a multitude of other options.
