I was just getting ready to post a similar message. I am sure all of us will be praying for Phil and his wife. When you are 81 years old you start to realize that you could be in this situation tomorrow. In all my years following this forum the "White Story" has been my favorite.

It is nice to run across Padgett frequently on the Pontiac forum. Much more subdued.

I have deleted my post of 11/26/21 as I have been accused by a forum member of violating the physician/patient trust. I have been retired for 21 years and do NOT have a license to practice' Steve and I never shared a patient/physician relationship. He never once asked me a medical question nor did I ever give him medical advice. The information I shared was openly disclosed by Steve to at least 15 Tour Members at happy hour in the hotel lobby. I thought it would be valuable for our forum members to understand that his contacting Covid and the ultimate outcome was not random. Decisions have consequences. If I offended anyone I apologize

I think it is human nature to think that bad outcomes only happen to other people. Pam and I have never carried these documents but will in the future

Sent a insurance payment from College Station to San Antonio (180 miles) 15 days ago and hadn't arrived yesterday. Sent an overnight to Florida and tracking showed it sat in Houston for 12 days. Typical of USPS in our area.

Donated a non running 81 Mercedes 300SD a couple of years ago. Not a positive experience. They lost the title and it took forever to complete the donation. Next time I will sell it to a junk yard and donate the proceeds to the charity of my choice.

Many of us are aging and need to consider their plight. It has never occurred to me to take a Power of Attorney with me as we travel. What happens if both you and your wife are injured in a accident in another state. Think about it!!!

Brenda is also hospitalized with Covid and was recently transferred to a center in San Antonio. Her medical status at this time is unknown to me but as a physician it doesn't sound good. Members of the Buzzy chapter are actively involved with helping her. If my memory is correct they have no children. Keep her in your prayers at this difficult time.

As a regular reader of the WSJ I was surprised by the article. Very positive reflection on the old car hobby and the Page family.

Thanks Marty. I was on the Buzzy tour in Orlando 3 weeks ago and Steve wasn't feeling well then and left the tour a day early. I know that Both were vaccinated but as you know Steve had long term medical issues that put him in the very high risk category. Condolences to Brenda and family. He will be missed by the Touring community.

If you live in south Texas most major show/tour is 1000 miles or more. In my 40 plus years in AACA I have probably towed over 250 K miles.

Add to that the depreciation of the tow rig, tire cost(I always blow at least one) license and maintenance costs, hotels and meals. I always assume $1 per mile each way as a starting point.

This criteria should qualify me!!!

In the art glass industry of the late 1800'sand early 1900's it was common for the artisans on the glass blowing floors to fabricate personal items in their off time which led to the Dahm and Galle miniatures (small vases no more than 2 inches) that were never sold commercially and were probably given to children or for personal gifts. What is the possibility that this was fabricated at the factory by a employee for personal use or to give to his father? Regardless i would wear it proudly

And after 50 years of collecting many of us are still not advanced collectors!!

I joke about finding a prepared obituary on my wife's computer. BOB DIED, CARS FOR SALE!!! Seriously I have detailed instructions on how to dispose of my car and advertising collections when I pass . The most troublesome is my hundreds of unframed paper advertising lithographs some dating back into the 1800's Like 89tc no one in my family has the slightest interest in cars or advertising. I don't think my oldest son can even change a tire. On the other hand he just received a golden parachute after engineering the sale of the company he was CEO of and is retired at 55 so I shouldn't complain. The majority of our money is going to our favorite non profits and we have withdrawn our considerable University support for reasons I will not go into.

Mike, I love what you did with your calendar and also preserving the Dodge advertising pieces. John P Hughes knew how to advertise!. Is this the dealership which started in Lynchburg in 1914 and later moved to Madison Heights and lost it's franchise when Chrysler filed for bankruptcy?

Learned on the farm 47 Ford PU With 4 speed. I can't remember if it had synchromesh or not. None of the tractors did. In the summer of 56 I was driving a International 190 Semi hauling concrete pipe to construction sites. No synchro and 2 speed rear axle. Life was good for a 16 y/o farm boy.

I usually don’t purchase road maps but Chief Pontiac caught my attention. Ninty nine pages in all including a guide to radio stations in every state. Dated 1951 and celebrating Pontiac’s 25th year. Before the turn of the last century the name Pontiac belonged to a a city, a buggy and an Indian. In 1907 the Pontiac buggy company became the Oakland Motor Car Company and joined the newly organized General Motors Corporation in 1909. In 1910 they produced 4000 cars. In 1926 the first Pontiac was produced. Now an Orphan car they produced 469,813 units in 1950.

Just returned from the “Buzzy” tour in Orlando and stopped at a antique shop on the way home. The calendar is 1906.

I would definitely take two days if you wish to enjoy it. It is more like Pate than Hershey. Not much "old" metal. There was a huge car corral the last time I was there.

Finish the rebuild of my wife’s 81 SLC which hydrolocked secondary to a head gasket leak when it was stored for the winter. Also leaving Saturday for the “Buzzy” tour in Orlando. Those of you in the NW could load a car in the trailer and head south for a few more weeks of touring.
