  1. Interesting ad from 1940-41. In 1940 Brown and Williamson introduced the “Modern American Airplane” series of trading cards attached to a pack of Cigarettes. They also sponsered the “Wings of Destiny” radio program. This ad is 20 by 30 on heavy cardboard and was purchased at Hershey in the 80’s. Is that a Piper J-3?
  2. A family that we housed in Florida during Catrina is safely in Houston. Our favorite waiter from the warehouse district who stayed to weather out the storm texted an hour ago that he was safe. Our prayers go out to all. During the 8 years we lived in the Florida panhandle we totally evacuated 5 times and rode out another 3 hurricanes. I don't miss it!!!
  3. Go for "IT" If my memory is correct from your last delivery you are old enough that the health consequences of what you are doing right now are not all positive. Nothing is permanent. You can always move to a new chapter if this doesn't work out.
  4. If my memory is correct it is actually a Studebaker-Garford.
  5. There is nothing here that $100K won't cure. Given the lack of care this car has received one can only assume the mechanicals are similar.
  6. The recent post in General Discussion re “Big Boy” reminded me of this European Gulf add in my collection. My lack of foreign language prevent me from understanding the occasion.
  7. Thanks Mike. It won't be for sale until I pass. I've had it too long to not enjoy now. Is there a way to professionally clean it before framing or should I leave it alone?
  8. Looking at the chip he showed, My error, used to seeing the later "OK" plastic signs. If porcelain it is worth some serious money.
  9. You have to submit a proposal with a few quality photos and they review it. They like to throw in the occasional off beat listing
  10. With one exception I have made it a rule to avoid anything plastic for the past 40 plus years. However at the right price it would look great in anyone’s garage
  11. Some technical data on a poster I purchased at Pate 30 years ago. Took me 3 days to find it
  12. I have used Diamondbacks for years on all my drivers. I understand they now make their own tires rather than fabricating white sidewalls on Michelin radials.
  13. Final selling price was $4200 plus the 5% premium. Well sold !!
  14. What a great piece of advertising. Thanks for saving it. It is nice to have "Wall Space" Do you know the age? I will take some more photos tomorrow What a wonderful start to collecting. It is fun to go back to the beginning and enjoy the memories
  15. Thanks Mike and Terry. No Grommets and never framed that I can tell. Did these originate from Goodyear for dealer use or a separate commercial endeavor? No mfg data anywhere
  16. Looking for some help from the members on this one. As many of you know I am slowly going through my CC storage unit. I found this yesterday. Hadn’t seen the light of day in al least 25 years. Given to me by a old friend who was a great “picker” in the Peteroliana field. I never framed it because (1) since it was a gift it wasn’t worth much and (2)I thought it was a reproduction. (3). Until we moved to Texas I had no wall space. Looking at it now it will be framed and on what little wall space I have left 24 X 36 on heavy linen
  17. Still having problems finding him. Go to the search function in the center of the blue banner at the top and this will take you to search member. You can PM him. He was last on the forum Wednesday
