  1. OILZUM hasn’t sold yet but this Flying A Neon sold for $81K. Recall my previous comment regarding the amount of cash on the sidelines.
  2. I always tell my wife the alternatives to my hobbies involve "bar hopping". How about a photo of it's final placement?
  3. A cute Fisk lithograph, 20 by 30 dated 1927. J F Kernan was known as the poor man’s Norman Rockwell and did several Fisk advertisements along with 30 Saturday Evening Post covers
  4. You are correct John. We have examples of Lalique in our glass collection that in my opinion are more attractive and cost a few hundred dollars (in the 70's and 80's) at most.
  5. I agree Walt. My 58 Barritz had them when purchased in the early 90's. They do not add anything!!!
  6. My guess is at least $40K. A friend of mine probably spends $40 to 50K at every major advertising auction he attends although he specializes in Neon. There is unlimited money out there and with inflation over 8% people want their excess money in "real" goods that appreciate.
  7. Lalique vase sold at auction to an American collector in 2012 for 280,000 pounds which is $387,647.00. There is big money in every form of collectible
  8. Another litho from my collection. Certainly in the top 20 of my favorites. The last historical mention of this company was 1913
  9. Fantastic piece of advertising. What is the "back" story. Was it lost in the attic of a abandoned dealership?
  10. I would agree with ED. I have insured with Hagerty for years and all of my cars are "agreed Value" I don't think Hagerty even cares as to the actual value. Lets face it you pay so much per $1000 The risk analysis computer program has figured out how much to charge per $1000 based on your credit rating, claims history, and so much information about you that you would be shocked. When I had cars in both Florida and Texas I had individual policies for both states and paid a lower rate in Texas where I am 100 miles from the gulf
  11. I change mine every 3 years except for my daily driver which I do every 20K miles
  12. It took me forever to find these photos from 83. This is what one looks like restored. My first restoration. It won the AACA Presidents cup in the early 80’s. Ninety percent of the wood had to be replaced secondary to termite damage during it’s stay in Argentina. You can stick your finger into the holes they make. Car also had bullet holes in the drivers side door Does anyone know where this car is now?
  13. FROM MARTY: Got home yesterday. Only moderate damage to house. Limited electricity from natural gas generator. Still hoping to make Glidden and Hershey, Expects it to be weeks without electricity, potable water, internet or cable TV. He asks you to keep the Houma/Thibodaux region in your thoughts and prayers. They were in the eye of the storm for hours. God Bless!!!
  14. My girlfriend (wife of 38 years now) was driving my 70 Chevy PU down SE 14th street in Des Moines when she noticed the Left front fender drop and saw a wheel rolling down the street ahead of her. After she got it stopped the police came to inspect and found ALL of the lug nut almost off. A present from my EX
  15. Rather than re-inventing the wheel look up the HAMB thread "Coker tires--trash or treasure" If my memory is correct is is about 50/50
  16. I find it interesting how so many 34 rumble seat coupes and convertible's have very similar styling. Kind of reminds me of todays styling similarities
  17. Interesting ad from 1940-41. In 1940 Brown and Williamson introduced the “Modern American Airplane” series of trading cards attached to a pack of Cigarettes. They also sponsered the “Wings of Destiny” radio program. This ad is 20 by 30 on heavy cardboard and was purchased at Hershey in the 80’s. Is that a Piper J-3?
