  1. Exactly my thinking. At $50 I probably would have considered it as I had a great day selling. It did not sell. Reading this thread has been a learning experience. Thank you all .
  2. Now you know why I don't collect watch fobs. I will leave it to the experts but I do appreciate looking at them. This one was priced at $125
  3. I was at the Tulsa Advertising Show last weekend and only saw one fob for sale. Fake or Real? I thought it looked too perfect but what do I know!!!
  4. Have you priced a new dually recently. I am keeping my 07 until it dies!!
  5. If you can find a copy of the "Fisher Body Service Bulletin, Volume 2, Number 1 through 20" you will find detailed discussion of the Fisher body part by part. The first six of seven bulletins discuss the wood framework of the standard 5 passenger sedan. I suspect the AACA library has this. Although not actual plans the discussion is quite detailed.
  6. If you like your 30 ft trailer why not fix the defects unless they are terminal? The 20 ft enclosed trailer that came with Al Edmonds 32 Cadillac was built in 1984 and still works fine. (All Metal) My only complaint is the 15 in wheels. Only used to haul small cars like my Corvette's and Jags now.
  7. I was at the Tulsa Advertising and Bottle show this week end. A little smaller than the Indy Ad Show but a great turnout of dealers and lookers. Reproduction Porcelain is getting harder to spot for the average buyer and is depressing the market imo. I had many buyers comment that they are reluctant to purchase because everything on evil bay is fake. A dealer purchased a couple of pump signs from me and commented I know they are real but I have to convince the next buyer that they are real. I must have had 50 buyers look at them and pass because they couldn't be sure and didn't want to take a chance.. BTW I only saw one automotive watch fob and it was fake. Great to be out again!!! I just loaded up the Element with excess inventory that has ben sitting around for years and had a great time.
  8. Great Thread. Don't know if this is fact or fiction but Warren Buffet reportedly replied to a reporters question regarding how it felt to be rich with "If you have ever been poor you will never be rich". My father was born in 09 and mother in 11 and they lived comfortably in later life but never recovered emotionally from the depression. The day I left for college my mother asked "Do you really think it is wise to quit a good job at the cement plant to go to school?" Glad to hear that mom wasn't the only one to wash and re use tin foil until the day she died.
  9. You have a great eye for details. Thanks for pointing this out. Maybe it is time to get my Cateracts done.
  10. I also cancelled HCC when the editor changed and the page count dropped. Much of the enjoyment/education I used to experience from magazines now comes from forums such as this one. I would much rather spend an evening on this forum than leafing through a Hemmings CC.
  11. If I posted this previously I apologize. 1912 Studebaker/Flanders from a sales book in my collection. This is the year Studebaker took control of EMF and rebadged the Flanders 20. This allowed Studebaker to cancel their long-standing contract with Garford and start manufacturing a complete car
  12. I think this photo is from the same event as the 6/17 photo. December 1930 scribbled on the back. Apologies for the poor quality.
  13. I couldn’t have said it better. This forum has become an important part of my retirement. An OOPS photo
  14. Shell add reprint from the Shell advertising Art Collection Museum. Heavy cardboard
  15. From an add in my collection. 1915 or 1916 Touring Roadster and four passenger Tourabout
  16. Most of mine will be original as I just discovered the box of photos in storage 2 weeks ago and am slowly digitizing them when I have time. Lots of fun. Thank you Walt for the thread. Interesting thought, would this thread have emerged without COVID?
  17. Not to the soccer mom or the couple with 4 or 5 kids. What about the coolness of our hulking tow vehicles. I don't think I ever considered the "cool" factor since I purchased my used 58 Impala in 1963. I was looking at Palasades last week and the only color they had was black. Black must sell. Regarding the $65K Honda, we are in an inflation spiral and it has only begun. I was at Kroger's yesterday and 3 Rib Eyes were $42. That bothers me more than a "Black Edition" Honda and I am not a buyer of either.
  18. Thank you for the clarification. When I first saw this post I thought i was losing my mind because the one I saw looked like jeep.
  19. From my personal collection I think this is my Uncle’s first car. Iowa farm scene
  20. What a great photo. Makes me ashamed to think the kids and I thought we were camping when we jumped into the 40 ft Diesel pusher and went to the Indy 500 every year.
  21. If most of us haven't seen it, it's fair game!! Remember we are on page 348 and I can't remember page 340!!!
  22. My wife and I went to France twice a year for 15 years and obviously loved the people, wine and food. You brought back fond memories. Great car show. Thank You
  23. You should have said that was you polishing the car Great Photo
