  1. 1942-1948 DeSoto. This is the optional one that lights up when the lights are on. The standard one was chrome, but the same. 19
  2. Follow the purple wire. It should be under the A/C compressor. My car isn't handy for a picture and has no A/C, but it is on top of the front of the engine just under where the compressor would be.
  3. Mopar used ANCO wipers from the factory in these years.
  4. It's been in place for a long time. AACA would welcome these groups as a new region if there is not a local region in place now. Place a call to Steve in the National Office to discuss further. AACA is very open to this discussion.
  5. Looking back at your pictures, I think you should consider the DPC (Drivers Participation Class). Class judging is based on how the car was delivered to the owner. I don't believe your rims, tires or blue ignition wires are 1965 correct. I don't know Tigers that well, but you should have documention that the air cleaner and valve covers are factory correct for 1965. A very nice car, but for AACA judging purposes I think DPC is the best option.
  6. The correct class is 25b, Sports Vehicles, Open 1961-1969. Good luck in your class judging. Nice looking car. You may also want to review the Judges Guidelines which can be downloaded from the AACA Home Page. Your must be a member of AACA National to show your car.
  7. Greg, it does not go in the heater box. That is under the hood. The coil stays inside the car. It goes in the airflow of the heater outlet inside the car behind the glove box. The other guys are giving you general information not Chrysler specific information. If your heater core was inside the car, there info would be correct but your heater core is in the engine compartment. I have a '50 Chrysler and it is the same system as yours.
  8. Measure you old wires and go to NAPA You can buy individual wires by the length.
  9. Carpet remints work great you can change them often as needed. Keep the plywood floor. It's not big enough for a show room and just adds weight. I believe in over kill in towing. For the past 10 years I've towed a 24' enclosed hauling a '56 Lincoln Conv. I specified HD axles for the larger brakes (7500 Lbs). I had the manufacturer rate the trailer at 10,000 pounds to keep out of CDL requirements, but I knew I actually had 15,000 pounds rated available. Way over kill. Pulled by a Chevy 3500, long bed dualy. Way over kill again, but in 100,000 miles of towing, never an issue or scare.
  10. It's coiled up and left behind the glove compartment box on the inside of the car. This controls the flow of hot water through the water valve to control the temp inside the car. Graham Man is describing the temperature gage tube, but I think you are describing the heater water valve. You may want to support the coil with a loop of wire or zip tie.
  11. The change was actually in 1948. When getting my '47 Series 70 ready for the road, I followed the BCA Judging Guidelines and ordered 8.20x15 tires. They wouldn't fit under the rear finders or in the spare tire well in the trunk. I researched It further and found the change was in 1948. Documentation was sent to BCA and the Judges Guidelines were corrected. I used the 8.20x15's on my '48 Cadillac 60S. I just wasn't planning on buying 10 tires that month.
  12. Evidence of the engine turning is still there in the photo.
  13. Millhouse hasn't visited this site since 2016. Try sending him a PM which will also go to his email.
  14. Happy Birthday to your Dad. Going through the same thing with my 93 year old mother. The good days are great, the others I wish were better for her.
  15. That is known as a horn chirp. You can do the same thing by hitting your horn button really quick. Its not broken. Look in your owners manual and you can see that you can turn it off as well. I always do this on my cars.
  16. That looks like a casting part number on the intake manifold. What is needed is the VIN number stamped on a pad somewhere on the block.
  17. Post this in the Dodge Truck section below and you will get more responses.
  18. I have 4 6.50x16 Allstate tires still wrapped. White wall. Can deliver to Hershey.
  19. He had a good attorney. Some are jerks, others work miracles. The full price was awarded as damages against the seller for not performing to a contract.
  20. Greg, Contact eBay with an attorney. Auctions are legally binding contracts. I had a friend a few years ago with the same situation. With an Attorney he was able to reeive the full sale price plus kept the car for another sale.
  21. I suggest you post this in the general discussion area. For judging purposes it would be in the Production Vehicles in class 27n. You could also consider HPO or the DPC classification. Good luck on your car. We don't discuss values in the Judging section of the forum.
  22. Buick changed tire size from 1947 to 1948. The 1947 spare tire well is to narrow to put the 1948 tire size into it. This is the case for a Roadmaster. I'm not sure on a Super.
