  1. They also prevent the bumpers from locking in rear-ender accidents.
  2. Gary, Buick used wood grain appliques on their dash and garnish moldings. It would be very difficult to match a patch with paint. I think the best you could do is to minimize the scratches.
  3. I suggest you just ship it via motor freight or via Fastenal.
  4. These are problematic, so I just replaced mine with a fuse.....
  5. It would be helpful if you posted which car you are investigating...
  6. It is more than a guideline. The HCCA accepts members with 1916-1942 cars, but refuses to list their cars in the HCCA online directory. They have the data and still accept those dues paying members, but they filter them out of their directory.
  7. The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1942 is an excellent resource. You can usually find a copy at your local public library. The Buick A Complete History also lists the info you seek and it goes beyond 1942.
  8. If you want an original, it must be for show judging rather than for function. I may have one from a Buick that fits a Marvel Carburetor.
  9. The short answer is YES. Springs can be compressed to form a contour to the rear of the seat that will also be more comfortable for passengers.

  13. You are overthinking this to make it a problem... I suggest you paint the metal to protect it and move on.....
  14. Pete, I'll bet that rear end sells quickly.
  15. Stenciled numbers make me think they might be WW1 military spare parts. Maybe a truck or ambulance?
  16. I suggest gas tank sealant would prevent leaks if not completely tightened.
  17. If the cavity is completely filled it will become fluid within the rotating parts. What does thixotropic mean in terms of viscosity? Definition - What does Thixotropic mean? A thixotropic fluid is one that takes a fixed time to return to its equilibrium viscosity when subjected to abrupt changes in shear rate. In other words, the liquid becomes less viscous (thinner or flows more easily) when shaken, stirred, agitated or otherwise stressed. What is Thixotropic? - Definition from Corrosionpedia www.corrosionpedia.com/definition/2400/thixotropic
  18. Yes, she did, but I let her know I would buy her a replacement if it sold with the truck.
  19. I think it would make for a good parts car for my 1924 Master Buick Cut-Down pickup. Mine is done and for sale for only $12,500 with all the original tools, spare head, etc.
  20. I suggest you give up looking for a hen's tooth & just make the bearings, seals and shaft if needed.
