  1. This fitting is off a fuel pump and it is damaged so it leaks. I am trying to find another one but the only ones I can find are regular 90s but I need this one with the long leg. It needs to clear the body of the fuel pump. It is 1/8 NPT to 5/16 flare if that matters. I have found some that are close but they are all 37 degrees and I need 45 degrees fittings. Does anyone know where to get these? Even if I knew what it was called maybe I could find one. Any ideas?
  2. Closing in the rain is a big mistake. You know the only people out looking are BUYERS not hagglers. Friday was a great day for everyone from what Im hearing. I dont have a booth setup but all my friends said Friday was one of they're biggest days ever and everyone was ready to go. I think the pentup frustration with Thursday drove everyone out on Friday to get things done. If you left early you made a mistake rain or no rain. Even Saturday seemed very busy in the car corall.
  3. I think Friday will be a good day. Many people who cant come during the week plus all the people who are staying out of the rain today and good weather for Friday means there will be alot of people Friday. Dont give up!!!!
  4. This isn't a treehugger thing it's another handout to the farmers because of tarrifs. https://www.thisisinsider.com/trump-iowa-rally-ethanol-e15-gas-change-trade-war-pain-2018-10?utm So much winning...........
  5. This car is owned by a board member here. Theres a thread about it somewhere. Worthy project.
  6. And here we go down the rabbithole second guessing ourselves and the companies that make the stuff so that every one is now too scared to pick anything to use in they're waterpumps because it might be wrong and burn up a water pump or coat a radiator or cause cats and mice to fall in love. That happens alot around here where people overthink it and suddenly nobody can make a decision anymore because of too many questions and no real answers. I personally would trust Penrite and Restoration Supply. If they say it is water pump grease then Im going to use it in my water pump and just assume that the world wont end.
  7. And what year/make/model of car?
  8. Sounds like the diaphram cracked and leaked gas into the crankcase. Pretty common if your using an old fuel pump or NOS. Modern rebuild kits usually have ethanol resist parts so it should fix the problem.
  9. I dont like photos. Wait you were taking a poll right???
  10. The trick with a Dynaflow is to keep the engine at its torque peak and let the fluid couplings do their thing. Buicks with Dynaflows will actually go slower if you rev them too high and thats why alot of guys cooked they're Dynaflows. You can almost feel the sweetspot when your accelerating in a Dynaflow Buick.
  11. I had a guy who bought a car like 15 years after I sold it. He kept calling me with questions. At first it was ok but after a while it just got exhausting. What kind of gas did you use back then? Did you ever rebuild the carburetor? Do you have any papers from when you had the car? Do you remember the name of the guy you got it from? Do you remember the timing you used on the car? What kind of spark plugs do you recommend? After two or three calls I got tired of it and I told him it was enough. He kept calling anyway until I got a little gruff with him at which point he went crazy and really said some censored type things. Never again. Maybe history matters but jeeze on some cars just let it go. Most people dont care about cars like we do and some people care wwwwaaaaaaayyyyyy too much. If they dont want to help they dont want to help. The end.
  12. Green with red leather just in time for chrismas!
  13. I always had trouble with electronics in my 6 volt cars they always blew out the plug converter when I put it in the lighter socket. I think its something to do with the regulator because the current is up and down so much its not as smooth as a modern electrical system. I kept trying USB plugs and they always blew out instantly.
  14. This has been my experience with "kits" like this. Their close but you need to re engineer it yourself at home to make it work. Nothing is "bolt on" in this hobby. And once you get the parts to "bolt on" you will still have to engineer the master cylinder situation which they will tell you is a "bolt on" but is probly not. Getting the parts on there is only the first step of a long job. I think it is doubtful that the spindles have been changed. Changed to what? I bet there is no other spindles that will "bolt on" and still work with 46' Buick Super brake parts and steering and suspension. Wilwood wont help because they dont know how to solve this problem. The bearing they gave you worked that one time on that one car that they think is similar enough to your 46' that their "bolt on" kit might kind of sorta work. But if they used a prewar car for prototyping you might be out of luck unless you switch to whatever spindles they used to make they're kit. Did they make they're kit knowing that there are big series cars and small series cars and they might have different spindles? Or maybe the design changed after the war? I hope its easy but I bet your going to have to find whatever spindles Wilwood used to make they're kit and swap those which is a hassle job. Or some kind of spacer to keep the bearing from sliding all the way down the spindle? Is it too late to return the kit and put the drums back on? At least you know those work.
  15. Transmission fluid is a common substitute. It doesnt hurt paint if it leaks. Windows might work a little slower but an acceptable trade.
  16. Just to follow up with this he took it to a shop and they found the electric fuel pump was bad and only ran sometimes which was blocking flow. He says he just installed it at the beginning of summer so it went bad pretty fast. They installed a new pump and made a bypass so even if this one goes bad the engine pump will be able to pull gas around it. The bad electric pump was blocking all flow even tho its supposed to be flow thru. Their still haveing problems getting it to idle. It keeps surging and they dont know why. But at least it is running again. My friend thanks you for all the help!!!!
  17. Everything is heavy these days. Teslas weight doesnt seem out of wack. Dodge Challenger: 4448 lb's Ford Mustang: 3825 lb's Chrysler 300: 4380 lb's Lamborghini Aventador: 4196 lb's Buick Lacross: 3940 lb's Chevrolet Camero: 4113 lb's For something thats the same size and luxury class as Tesla. Mercedes S550 is 4819 lb's BMW 7 series 4740 lb's Bentley Continental 5501 lb's
  18. Can you give us more details about whats wrong? Does it charge right for a little while then stop charging at all? Does it just charge maximum all the time? Have you tested generator output at the generator rather than at the battery? Sometimes regulators are bad right out of the box and they usually need to be reset and adjusted. If you can be more detailed about whats wrong and what its doing we can probly help better. If your generator is burning out it sounds like it is shorted to ground and cooking itself. Have the wires been connected right? Mixing them up can make the generator go full blast without showing on the gage.
  19. What you describe definitely sounds like a wiring issue or electrical. Is there a loose wire somewhere that jiggles when you hit the bumps?
  20. Musk just resined. That might be good so someone who know's what their doing can come in and make the company work right. Hes an idea guy and he got it going but maybe now its time for someone else to take it to the next level. Since its a public company hes not really the owner so it can continue without him. It would be a shame if it disappeared because he was too immature to run a car company.
