  1. Filler also has to survive the baking. Not many can.
  2. Did you ever notice that Wayne Carinni is wrong about the price of a car almost every single time? My wife and me have a running joke about how far off he will be each time. He says oh its worth 200,000$. Then auctioneer says SOLD!!! 160,000$!!! Then Wayne says he will do better on the next one. He does find some cool stuff tho.
  3. I like how he sits down with the customer at the end and says basically ' you wanted us to give it a tune up but we fixed everything and rebuilt the motor. You're original budget was $7500 but the bill is now $58,000.' Then the customer says it's ok he loves the car. Lol lol!!!
  4. Could it be something like a pilot ray? Not too unusual for that period but usually only on bigger expensive cars. Theres a whole story on them on the website where I got this image. http://theoldmotor.com/?p=133530
  5. Thats impressive. I started with a small sandblaster like that but eventually upgraded to a larger model with wheels that I got from harbor freight. I think it holds 160 pounds of sand. I can blast a looooooonnnnggg time with it. It really sped up the job just because you dont have to stop and refil nearly as often. It probably cut my blasting time in half.
  6. I think you will be surprised by how long wire wheels take to thoroughly blast. I remember my dad doing some Model A wheels when I was a kid and he stacked them up so that as he blasted, it hit them all. The ones on the bottom obviously didnt get super clean that way but as he finished the top one the one below it was also mostly done and so on. I thought it was pretty smart anyway.
  7. I thought it was interesting that only Musk and not Tesla was being sued. Hes in charge but he isnt the owner anymore so theres always a possibility that someone will buy enough stock to take over. Its interesting to watch him self destruct whether he intended to or not. Im really surprised that leaking news that he was going to go private at $420 didnt cause prices to go up since thats more than the current stock price. Maybe I dont understand it.
  8. Makes me want a big series 40' or 41' Buick all that much more. Ive kind of been looking but this really makes me want to get out there and just get one. Going to Hershey hope to find something there!!! Very nice job!!!!!
  9. You will never 100% stop moisture coming through the floor. I just buy one or two cheap box fans and leave them on low speed in the garage to keep the air moving so it doesnt settle on the cars. I run a dehumidifier in the spring and summer. Keep the air moving and it will be ok. Trying to stop moisture from doing what it does is almost imposisble so you just work with it.
  10. Bob are you OK? Your just a wet blanket on EVERYTHING these days. Whatever the topic is you seem to be against it or have something mean to say about it. Did something bad happen to you recently? Im not prying and I havent been here that long but I dont remember you being this angry always. I know your probly not doing it on purpose. Is everything OK? Im being sincere. Back on subject I used powdercoating on the wheels of my 56' Olds and the stock white steel wheels on my pickup plus the wheels on my daily driver that I put custom wheels on and had them powdercoated black (2014 Chevy Impala). I dont feel that it looks like plastic and on both the Olds and the pickup I can still see the factory serial number stampings in the metal underneath. I dont think it covers any more thicker than paint. It doesnt look like a plastic coating. People think it looks like the plastic handles on a pliers or something but it doesnt. Like paint but much more durable and flexable. Im very pleased with the results on all three cars. Bob I hope your OK.
  11. Those are modern cars why wouldnt you drive them every day???? Thats what they were made for!!!
  12. My 56' olds was apart for paint when I went thru my divorce in the 80s. Wifes lawyer looked up price guide value for 1 quality car and said I had to pay her half of that number for her half of the car that we bought together. I told him she could have the whole car and sell it and keep everything. I believe he even went to the bodyshop to see it before saying no thanks, nevermind.
  13. Davlet given the confusion around your listings and whose cars and parts these are maybe you should clarify your relationship with Dick Shappy? There are multiple threads going on where people who know Dick are calilng him and he says he doesnt know anything about what your doing. Dick Shappy is well known and liked so people are going to be protective so if this is a relationship your building you shold make sure everyone knows what your doing and that you have permission.
  14. If you go into a new car dealer and order a car how long does it take to get to you? How long does it sit in a lot somewhere waiting to be picked up? Its not like this is unique to Tesla. YOu guys in shipping know how this works its not easy. If you have already decided to hate something then everything it does is more evidence that your right to hate it. This is a good case on point.
  15. Every one thinks their doing something different then they use all the same parts as everyone else. Then when their done they realize it isnt any different. And another interesting car is dead.
  16. A friend of my father owned the blue one at the Sweigard museum and he drove it for years without any problems. 75mph on the highway no problem. Smooth and easy. Felt more modern than most other 40's cars I have been in. And that was before it was restored back in the 70's.
  17. Indoor car has red wheels so probly not the same car. I think I also see a leather front seat and divider window which means limo so if your more than 5-8 it will be a tight fit up front.
  18. 10psi per 1000 rpm's is a good rule of thumb. 10-15psi at idle seems ok as long as it goes back up when you are driving. We had a 40's Cadlilac that would show 0psi at hot idle and the lifters got noisy. We put a mechanical gauge on it and it showed about 5psi at hot idle which I thought was not enuff. Pulled the pan and rebuilt the oil pump and it popped up to 35psi at idle and dropped down to 25psi when it was hot. Lifters still a little noisy at idle but that was OK I think. Right now if you're engine is quiet and it shows 10psi and goes up when you drive I think its OK. You could also try some thicker oil like a 40 weight or a 20W50 and see if it helps. Let us know please!
  19. You sort of need to put the charging stations where the electricty is dont you? Do they ask the owners of the cars where they want the chargers and those selfish jerks demand to have their spots up front? or do they put them where the people who own the parking lot want them? Theres a charging station in the strip mall near us and its over on one side of the lot by the road where most people dont want to park unless as a last resort. Its not like their taking handicap spaces or the spots near the stores. Seems like maybe theres some real anger here for some reason and no matter what happens electric cars will continue to be annoying to you.......? Did someone in an electric car kill a family member or something? The one arm man in an electric car maybe?????
  20. 10 pages with many posts by you, mostly to complain that not everyone likes what you like. Dont like it font read it. It's really easy not to click on the link and even easyer to not write anything.

  23. I'm sure he didnt buy something ordineary like a 350 Chevie did he? Throw a carburetor on top? 3 speed automatic? Because that would be AWESOME! Or lame like every other rod. At least it wont drive like a buick anymore. Thats what he really wants anyway. A 1970s chevy that looks like a buick.
