  1. I have to ask, since I'm not familiar with Mopars, but looking at this Imperial front end, I don't see a seam between the fender and the top grill ? Steve
  2. Congrats ! Beautiful truck.... I have a few friends that go up there every year....it's on my bucket list ! Steve
  3. Neat photos...... My Dad purchased a brand new 1960 Ghia, just like the picture you posted...... Mom and Dad drove it from NY to Miami on their honeymoon ! Steve
  4. Correct John, I don't see a need for that type of subject matter, just the buy / sell...... I like your idea about "Rent", I didn't think of that.... Thanks
  5. Trying to get a consensus from the membership here about establishing a "automotive" real estate forum. The forum would be a place where members can post their property or seek out specific property / location ( commercial or residential ), all related to the automotive hobbyist. Members have mention in other forum topics about their properties, but it would get lost in the thread, this way the membership would have an easy access without searching. Any thoughts or comments ? Thanks
  6. I might take you up on that....I'm missing the "catch support bracket", it's the bracket that is located under the hood latch plate ( vertical bracket in picture ) I have a friend looking in his stash of parts... if he comes up empty, I'll contact you via pm. Thanks ! Steve
  7. In my years with the Fire Service, pulling up to a scene like this, I would think fatality / entrapment..... they are very lucky ! Steve
  8. I went this route a few months ago selling my truck....just about all the buyers were scammers... it was relentless, the same with Ebay, but not as bad. After a month of the nonsense, I removed the listing from those venues and listed on Hemmings....sold within two weeks. The FB Market was new to me as well, I tried it out with selling my auto lift - sold that day ! Just my opinion..... Good Luck with the sale. Steve
  9. Bumper and lower valence installed & aligned .... I'm in the process of refurbishing the grill which is specific to the SS model. Steve
  10. I found some old photos of my Dad / vehicles....I have no clue as to make and model of these vehicles, Dad was born in 1931, so that one picture with him in it, has to be late thirties ?? Thanks for the help ! Steve
  11. Ryan - I would invest in a Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual / Fisher Body Service Manual for your specific year Corvair.... as you get into other projects with the Corvair, you can always refer back to the manuals.... I've used them with my '69 Impala - life saver ! Steve
  12. You could even buy box sets of television shows.... I like sixty's and seventy's programs ( ADAM-12, MANNIX, Rockford Files, EMERGENCY ! etc... ) I enjoy looking at the vehicles ! Steve
  13. The Wildcat listing has ended.... so I'm guessing it didn't sell, unless it sold outside of ebay ? Nice Buick ! Steve
  14. Just a fyi to the membership here, if your into Barn Finds, check out " Barn Find Hunter ", it's over on youtube.com . They are up to 60 episodes now, about 15 to 20 mins long.... I find the series very enjoyable and Tom presents it very well. I found out about this series when I "liked" the Hagerty page over on FB.... Steve
  15. John, approximately 2455 of the SS427 package were manufactured... not sure if there is a break down of how many 427 full size were produced for model year 1969.... ( Impala, Caprice, Biscayne, Bel Air, Wagons: Brookwood, Townsman, Kingswood ) Steve * Note - Just found some more info... L-72 ( 427 / 425 ) 546 produced L-36 ( 427 / 390 ) 5582 produced LS-1 ( 427 / 335 ) 18308 produced
  16. Thanks ! The winner was a 1973 Chevrolet Vega GT... it was beautiful, still had it's original tires on it I believe... you can see it in this photo.
  17. Good question ! I've had four '69 Impala's at one time, three were 327 and 427.... maybe a member here will chime in with specifics on this. Steve
  18. Thanks James. It has just over 7000 miles now... yes, those grills can crack easy now, due to the age, but original ones are out there...My parents purchased a new 1969 Impala Sport Sedan from the local Chevrolet Dealership in the fall of '69. I was with them when Mom picked it out..... parked all the way in the back of the lot since the '70's were out front. They paid $3000 cash for it...lol Dover White exterior, Black interior and a Black vinyl top.... no a/c.... I can't tell you how hot that car was during the summer months ! The picture I posted above was at the Hemmings Motor News New England Concours d'Elegance in Stratton Mountain, Vermont in 2010... It was runner up in the Preservation category.... Some pictures:
  19. This reminds me of my '69 Impala that I purchased in 2004. It was advertised as a original, 4900 mile vehicle. Two owner vehicle that was located in Audubon, Mn. The individual that was selling it , purchased it from the estate of the second owner... the car just sat in storage and he was just going to flip it. It still has the service sticker in the door jam from 1980 with just over 1000 miles listed ... the original dealership that sold the vehicle did the service on it. Seems crazy how a vehicle just sat, and it's just a Plain Jane vehicle. Steve
  20. I've been using FB for the past 5 or 6 years now... great tool for keeping in touch with my friends and the specialized groups that buy and sell items that pertain to my vehicle interest. I just tried out the FB Market last week... listed my car lift in the morning and was sold that evening. No issues... no scammers like I was having with Ebay and CL. Steve
  21. Just amazing ..... is it safe to call these vehicles " rolling art work " ? Steve
