  1. I agree with Terry's statement, I'm a little bias since my SS Monte Carlo was in issue #7, but I've known Richard going back to Hemmings and the Concourse shows that they had....everything that Richard is associated with is top notch ! Steve
  2. That's great Walt !! Great family you have there ! Steve
  3. It's too bad that the AACA had to suffer from this act of destruction from this person... sounds like the family should of step up and give her the help she needed before it came to this.
  4. Billy - you should check out the Smoke Haus car show every Monday night out in East Fishkill ( intersection of RT.82 & Old Hopewell Road ) it starts at 6pm, but people start arriving after 4pm.....and every Wednesday, at Bear Mountain State Park - this is huge, you have people showing up from the tri-state area to attend this! Steve https://www.bearmountaincarcruise.org/ https://efprovisionssmokehaus.com/car-shows
  5. Very sad to hear about this.... I agree with Walt....
  6. Hi James and thanks for your kind words....I don't recall a 307 in the Chevrolet full-size, I believe that the 307 was common in the Nova and Chevelle models. The Impalas, Caprice, Biscayne and Bel Air had a 6 cylinder and then the 327, 350, 398 and 427 variants . Steve
  7. This is how I went a few times ( quarter panels, automatic transmission and a rear step bumper ) it's been a few years, but as I recall, the service was very reasonable !
  8. Thanks for all the input.... great information here ! I think I want to look into the leading process a little more once I get back on tract with the restoration.
  9. So I have a question regarding my ongoing '69 Impala SS project and I'm looking for another opinion. The paint / body guy ( who has been doing beautiful work for the past 40 plus years ) is concern about the butt-welds on the quarter panels. He believes that once the final body and paint work is done, the butt-welds will show up when the car is out in the sun light. He thinks that I should remove the entire quarter and replace them with NOS quarters. Another company did the body work about 7 or 8 years ago... any thoughts on this ? Just a note: the patches were taken from an nos panel from a sedan, so they are not an after-market panel. Steve
  10. It turned out beautiful !! Can't wait to see it Hershey ! Steve
  11. Wow..... I remember reading those adverts in HMN with Bronson's name....
  12. Sounds like you have a great brother ! Hmm.... that location looks very familiar, could it be the Wappingers Falls Post Office ? Enjoy the car shows Billy
  13. Sorry Frank, didn't make it, not feeling that great.... but thanks for the invite ! Steve
  14. I'll probably head up there tomorrow and I'll take the old truck as well..... Steve
  15. Just an fyi...really nice show next weekend, I've been going for years ! https://www.dutchessfair.com/the-fairgrounds/all-events/rhinebeck-antique-car-show-swap-meet/
  16. I'm almost positive that my '69 had those style mirrors on the truck.....when the truck is outside in the sun light and if you look at an angle, you can see where the mounting locations were in both doors - previous owner must of fill in the holes prior to painting it.
  17. Wow.... very nice Mat ! I've always liked the 1967 thru 1972 Chevy / GMC trucks !
  18. Yes Mat.... factory black, but it's been repainted at one point......396 V8 with a 4 speed ! Steve
  19. Everything that John has mention is spot on....when I joined the NIA, we would get the club publication monthly ( when Dennis was the owner ) once it changed hands, as John stated, the contents changed as well and it became a quarterly publication. The VCCA and AACA are my main sites to go to ! I see that your located in South Carolina, try to attend the Hershey Show later this year, you will be amazed !! Great membership here ! Steve
  20. Did not know that..... I have a 1969 Chevy 3/4 ton and the gas filler is next to the driver's door, basically the tank is inside the cab and my back is to it ( not really a good safety aspect of the truck, they have kits to relocate them to under the beds ) Steve
  21. Mat, so the gas tank filler caps are located in the front fenders, so the tanks are located under the bed ? Steve
  22. PAV8427 - just curious how you made out with your father if you had an uncle....
